After an impressive 4-2 win over Croatia, can it be followed up against Ghana?
Both teams on three points after one game played so the winner of tomorrow’s game would confirm their qualification for the round of 32.
An England win paired with a Croatia win over Panama will confirm England top the group with a game to spare.

Looking forward to it, although not the 3am alarm! Both Ghana and Panama looked poor in first game, and if Ghana play similar, then we should be good for a win by couple of goals.Clean sheet would be great to give the defence a good boost after conceding 2 in last game.3

we'll win the group tonight and then Saturday will give other squad players some good minutes3
-
Expect a largely unchanged team. Maybe Stones out for Guehi as he didn't look fit. Can continue to use Saka from the bench if he still has fitness concerns.
Would love a 4-0 Clean sheet more important than scoring 4. So would take a 2-0.5 -
I wish it wasn't a 4am kick-off, right in the middle of final exam week, but it is what it is, I think we will see something special tonight with at least a 4-0 win.0
-
I reckon we should win, however Ghana will be playing Jones-ball against us and we will be struggling to break down 10/11 men in defence.
Very different from Croatia but 2-0 England with a late 2nd to spare our blushes.1 -
Also - it will be quite hot and we will not be playing in air conditioned comfort. Ghana will be up for that.1
-
3-1 England. Kane gets 2 more to keep pace with the other golden boot chasers.1

I'm hearing it will be like 18c/19c along with drizzle. So I think we'll be fine. If we were playing over here in London however we would have a problem.CharltonManor1966 said:Also - it will be quite hot and we will not be playing in air conditioned comfort. Ghana will be up for that.0 -
1-0 England Bellingham will be a tough game as Ghana will happily take the point.0

I think it will be a game of attrition and don't blame Ghana for making it so in the same way I don't blame NJ for making us like that.
I echo that I would take a clean sheet now and even a 0-0. Far more important to get minutes in legs and protect others.
I think we always look better against the more expansive sides like Croatia, Spain (sometimes), Germany, Holland etc as we play so well with pace on the break and did under GS

I'd drop Stones for Guehi regardless i think Guehi is a far better player.cantersaddick said:Expect a largely unchanged team. Maybe Stones out for Guehi as he didn't look fit. Can continue to use Saka from the bench if he still has fitness concerns.

I think this could be the only change for tonight's starting XI - if we hopefully go a few goals clear, then expect alot more in the second half and the squad to be utilized for the Panama game.blackpool72 said:

We've had a long break between games 1 and 2 but they now come thick and fast and minutes will need to be managed0 -
It's so unfair to have to play in cool, damp conditions, far more suited to Ghana, than the sweltering, dry heat we experience here in LondonKarim_myBagheri said:

weather looking ok in New York as well for the Panama game0

Not necessarily. My experience of hot countries, including West Africa (not Ghana admittedly) is when it’s hot they very sensibly are not usually that visibly active, let alone playing football. Whereas, the British on the other hand…CharltonManor1966 said:Also - it will be quite hot and we will not be playing in air conditioned comfort. Ghana will be up for that.0 -
I agree on Guehi over Stones and i'd personally also start Rashford over Gordon, but i wouldn't blame Tuchel if he sticks with the same XI.Elthamaddick said:

Gordon starting and Rashford to come on later is the ideal scenario. Why tinker with something that actually works ?Chris_from_Sidcup said:

We've had a long break between games 1 and 2 but they now come thick and fast and minutes will need to be managedRotate and keep things fresh, would expect even more changes vs. Panama if we win the Group tonight...Semenyo is going to be the key danger man in this Ghana side, so be good to see how we deal with him defensively1 -

Semenyo is an interesting one as I wouldn't bank on O'Reilly being able to keep him at bay. Weirdly, Spence at LB might be a good option as Semenyo is going to cut in as much as possible. Of course Ghana might give him a free role to roam, in which case O'Reilly is a better match upForeverAddickted said:letthegoodtimesroll said:

Hopefully no lightening....tough watching the France game with 2 hours for half time.Karim_myBagheri said:

I expect he will stick but the way we played against Croatia was that when kane dropped deep Gordon was the one who moved centrally to fill the space which isnt his strength, he is much better out wide. Rashford is much more suited to that role of cutting inside and dragging defenders out of position.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Will be interesting to see if he sticks with the same starting XI or makes a change or two.0

Can’t Croatia draw their game?0

A very random question.JaShea99 said:Can’t Croatia draw their game?
I think they'll win but yes there's a chance they can draw.9 -
Another decent test this. I think we’ll have enough to get through 2 or 3 nil. Will be interesting to see whether Ghana play a low block or give it a go.I do think that if you press our back line we could fall apart. Equally, I don’t think they’ll stop us from scoring.
They may as well have a go at us.0 -
4-1 england, Kane brace1

Comfortable home win 4-0 , is England closest to home than Ghana? I'm not sure so plan B 1-1.0
