Thank fuck for that. I have spent most of the week convinced my trip to Atlanta this week would be for nothing. I can start to look forward to it now 👌🏼😁

We got the win but we're shit, as per.

Can't remember many games where the team that's lost 2-0 could genuinely be considered to have put in a better defensive performance than the winning team

If you’re the Mexico/Senegal/DRC manager watching that you’d be very pleased.

Low block and counter will always be effective against us.

Defend like that against any team with an ounce of attacking nous and we are going to loose. Can’t remember the last time an England side looked so vulnerable. Centre backs both failed to impress and we have got real issues at right and left back.

Eze doesn’t run any faster than a jog!!, why play him wide?
Eze was an exciting,  attacking player before he joined Arsenal.  He seems a plodding midfielder now...
I genuinely believe they have to check for a pulse with him every now and then🙄

If Quansah has to be sent home surely even TT has run out of makeshift full backs and will have to call up a proper full back? Maybe even a proper LB?

LW and defense are our major issues.

Rice/Anderson/Bellingham basically picks itself now. Kane up front too.

Rest are a bit of a wash with Saka still coming back from injury.

Who in this squad can do that?

Can't call up any new players after the competition has started. If you could I'm sure someone would be kicking him just to make sure he's out!

Can’t call up players after the tournament starts. If They Quanash is injured too then it’ll be Spence or move Konsa to right back.

The hydration break alongside so many injuries makes this so so stop start.

It’s really killing any momentum or excitement.
You say that for most matches in this tournament in my opinion. The standard is:

    6 substitution breaks
    2 advert breaks
    10 injury breaks

Also, once added time is announced you can waste as much time as you want - the refs blow immediately when the announced amount has passed.

I said this at the pub the other night. It’s really odd and is going to cost someone soon.

RW too. Other than the corner for the 1st goal,  Saka was invisible.

Ecuador won a free-kick over a minute before the end of the allotted time v Germany, took it five seconds before the end of the time and the referee blew bang on. It's ridiculous

True, refs rarely in this competition observe the MINIMUM of 6 (or whatever) minutes added on. There have been goals in added time,  with a minute taken with the celebration, yet no more time has been added on.

Finally someone correctly used the word 'ridiculous.' Thank you.

I reckon it's simply because the Americans are desperate to get the next adverts on. The explanation really is that simple.

On the plus side we qualified top from a fairly straightforward group and set up a meeting with DR Congo. We met two teams who set up to not lose and beat one.
But that's about it. The downside is all sorts of woe. A number of players look barely qualified to shine in the championship (Konsa and Madueke look like players Panama wouldn't put in a starting XI). The defence is creakingly suspect and going forward we look slow and predictable. Up to a point we can be happy with qualifying. And the idea of slowly picking up speed as the tournament progresses up to dazzling performance to win the final will be fine if it pans out. Hard to see England dazzling anyone so far though.

Sadly, Konsa doesn’t look anywhere near the player he is for Villa in league/Europe.

    Thoughts on last night:

Not convincing but did just enough. Job done now we move onto bigger things.
Defence is a huge concern, better teams are going to kill us if we're so open at the back.
Pre-tournament some people were questioning Bellingham but for me he should be one of the first names on the teamsheet. One of the very few players we have that will pop up with something out of nowhere.

Right from the off,I said Tuchel had made mistakes with his squad.
1)Our defence looks awful,so wide open, even in the air we win little, where is Harry Maguire.
2)That game was crying out for someone other than Bellingham to be a goal threat from midfield,MG White been scoring for fun,who do we  have to bring on,36 year old Henderson, ridiculous.
    3) Finally,we have very quick forwards, crying out for long balls over the top, best passer of a ball we have,Arnold who is lying on his sunbed, while the likes of Dan Burn,Quansah, add nothing, while James is now injured(and has been a lot of the season)
If we have to face Mbappe,Messi,Jamail and their mates,we will get stuffed.

I don’t remember Olise being that much better than Eze when they were both at Palace. Now one of them is one of the best in the world and one is struggling massively. Think more wingers could do with moves overseas

I don’t like Henderson, he’s crap, but he was a like for like change for Anderson after we scored twice. If he wasn’t there, it would probably be Wharton who isn’t a goal threat either.

We could have just bought Mainoo on for Anderson.
