    Apparently they made the decision some time back to not release upgrade parts in dribs and drabs as most of the other teams do.  In 2-3 races time they are supposed to be releasing a major upgrade to the car as a whole ... but what the impact is who knows...maybe Adrian Newey's impact will finally be seen.

    Yeah this supposed " B Spec" car is going to have to be an absolute rocketship because today was absolutely embarrassing for them with their resources.

    Be interesting to see when Audi release Jonathan Wheatley.

    Caught up with the F2 and F3 highlights today, both the sprint and feature races, all very exciting.

    F3 was particularly exciting and the battle between Slater and Ugochukwu was a particular highlight, both drivers going for it.

    Shame that Slater couldn't hold on for his first victory... Imagine had Ugochukwu not gotten the pass completed on Yamakoshi when he did, then Slater would have broken DRS and could have been away - Slightly surprised he didn't get a penalty for pushing Ugo on the grass on the last lap, but will take that
    F2 was outstanding, especially when Goethe started to come through the field on the Super Softs
    How they all survived in that battle with Camara / Dunne etc. without anyone crashing I'll never know

    It is only practice - and I am sure Merc will be turning it up in qualy.

    But Lewis Hamilton fastest at Silverstone this AM.

    Traffic was absolutely horrendous gettIng away from Silverstone yesterday. Didn’t get back to Milton Keynes until gone 7.30. 

    Just approaching now for Day 2. Was so hot yesterday and expecting the same today.

    Got General Admission tickets, Watched practice from Copse then moved to Beckets for Sprint Quali. Hell of a walk back to the bus hub but good to see from different parts of track. Aiming for Vale this morning

    Yeah it’s not even close.  Lando and especially George are almost an afterthought. With Max / Red Bull as the villains.

    Ive always said to anyone that questions Lewis’ popularity to go to Silverstone. He is idolised by the UK F1 community

    Don’t know how tall Ugochukwu is, but the track commentary mentioned it every lap!

    If he carries on driving 1.5 seconds a lap faster than everyone else in a "spec" series, they might not have a choice!

    Hamilton, Verstappen, Norris, Leclerc, Bearman, Slater, Craigie all have elite karting CVs.

    Ugo is ok. You often see them looking good because they are 2 or 3 years older than the others and hanging around to try and look better. But place him the tier below the others above

    Couple of observations, despite having a brilliant start to the season, massive drop in Mercedes wear compared to last year. 

    I’d say it goes:
    1 Maclaren / Lando green 
    2 Ferrari

    then a big gap to 
    3 Williams (big surprise) / Red Bull / Mercedes 

    and then the odd Alpine / Aston

    For an English driver doing well, George Russell really doesn’t generate much fan interest. Really vanilla.

    Less confident that Freddie will be able to given the pace of Nael today, he really is my dark horse for the title!!
    Great Sprint race overall though, especially given the defence from Yevan David, which flattered the gap that Ugo managed to make
    Was disappointed de Palo couldn't get third at the death, good to see better from him and McLaughlin

    Watching on channel 4 but I guess they don't have any say in this but is there any point of the small screen with the camera behind the driver, for some reason normally Leclerc, it's so distracting and unnecessary.
