Is this the most biased ruling since the hand of god?

Turning Balogun's red into a suspended sentence (?) of a year is completely outrageous.

Turns out it's the worst ruling since they did exactly the same thing for Ronaldo coming into the tournament. Fifa is a joke.
It just shows them up for the corrupt wankers they really are. Embarrassing.

Surely this sets a precedent. If any other player is red carded in this tournament, they should also have their ban suspended. USA and FIFA corruption at its worst.

No point in giving red cards if they are going to be suspended.

We all know this already, but FIFA/Infantino are a disgrace. There can be no justification for this.

I was positive about USMNT before. Now I want them to lose

How can a one match ban be suspended for a year?

It's either violent conduct, so it's an immediate ban, or it's a refereeing error, in which case it's wiped out.

Just like some of the referee and var decisions this WC. Making up as they go along.

Whoever runs FIFA appear to be bent, complete and utter farce. Perhaps if USA get knocked out Trump can pay to get them reinstated.

Hope Belgium are a few goals clear by the 90 minute mark as otherwise it seems almost certain there'll be a penalty for Balogun to level things up

Cristiano Ronaldo was due to be suspended for the opening games of this World Cup and they cancelled that one as well. They make it up as they go along.

Trump put pressure on his mate I wonder 🤔
FIFA have now decided to award Trump a second Nobel Peace Prize for succeeding in preventing the imminent war between the USA and Belgium. That's 84 wars he's stopped now.

What is the point of having rules and regs regarding yellow and red cards if you're going to disregard them if, in FIFA's eyes, it's the wrong player (Ronaldo) or team (USA) affected?

Total farce and devalues their own competition.

    Idiots.

Substituting your GK for the shoot out is BOLD
We should’ve done it in 1990. And people said it at the time, so it wouldn’t have been that bold or controversial.
It probably wouldn’t have made much difference because the German pens were all very good, but Shilton was 40, wasn’t mobile enough and was effectively a spectator. Dave Beasant, who had a better penalty save record, or even Chris Woods may at least have got close to a couple.
Mate of mine spits fire every time you mention Peter Shilton's name. He blames him for 1986 and 1990.

1986 because he got "outjumped by a midget" for the Hand Of God goal, and also he reckons he should've cleaned him out either way, so he wouldn't have scored the second goal if he was in hospital!

1990 because of the deflected goal that he couldn't sort his feet out for.

Absolutely no one will be shocked. I will be first in line to piss on this orange prick’s grave when he finally dies. I’ve been embarrassed to be American for a decade. Hope Belgium pump us handily

I'd say Infantino goes onto my list of twenty people the world would be better off without, but he was already on it

Wow. I would say "unbelievable", but it's not really. The corruption is out there fully in the open now and they're not even trying to hide it or paint a gloss on it. Sporting integrity? Gone. It's all about the coin and Donald is paying.

This should be the decision that finally gets Infantino the sack.

    Complete lack of sporting integrity.

His red card has been suspended, so is now eligible to play against Belgium tomorrow

Apparently it's because they can't rescind it, so they've suspended it instead?!

Why the fuck would it have been rescinded anyway, it was a clear red

I didn't think it was possible to hate Trump any more, but each day he surpasses himself. Corruption in plain sight. Infantino was supposed to wipe out the corruption within FIFA, but it's flourishing as much as ever.

    Charlton equivalent:

Jim Davidson and Karl Howman appeal to FA/Football League to get a red card over-turned.

    Our result: increased ban.

So you can suspend a red card if it suits their agenda?

Absolutely mad if that’s the way it is.

There have been 12 red cards in this WC and only Balogun has had his red card suspended.
Qatar's Madibo did a clumsy challenge similar to Balogun and receives a 5 match suspension for his red card.
Ok, there was no broken leg with the American's tackle but both were similar yet with pressure from the White house, FIFA found Article 57.

No one should be surprised with FIFA and their decision making.

Maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't take in the commentary angle and realise the French are going for an Olivier award for [bad] acting.
Morocco will beat them with a good referee.
Or maybe, just maybe, we can use our eyes and see the Paraguayans were dirty c***s
Indeed, and also the French were play acting c@~ts.

Tap on shin pad? Roll over 3 times screaming. So many examples the 'pundits' ignore for the, 'I predicted the French to win the World Cup' kudos

You seem to be totally out of kilter and have you not noticed how our English players do exactly the same when trying to win a foul, including Harry Kane !
Your hatred of the French is affecting your views.
It's a game of opinions and bias entrenched views which can affect all of us.
    Argentina 😤
    Different views I guess.
Did you really not see the French play acting?
Did you not see Kane dive against Congo?
    Complete whataboutery.
    France game.

Have FIFA explained why this red card has been 'suspended' ?
    How canthey justify it.
Really makes a mockery of themselves.

How funny if they get done 3 or 4 nil now. Belgium always struck me as a team of quality but lacking in motivation. This should have them right up for it.
