I think so - firstly on a technicality - he wasn't celebrating a goal, but rather was with every player, squad member and staff member after the final whistle. He was at that end of the ground not because of a decision on his part, but because the whole organisation were with the fans. Secondly, it's clear from Tuchel and the other players that he is in the squad as much for what he brings to the camp as to what he can add on the pitch, though he can do a job there as well. You could argue that, if he is a waste of a shirt, then so are the 6 others that have yet to play, and are unlikely to get any minutes.charltonkeston said:

Injurys himself celebrating a goal he played absolutely no part in. His last act of being an England player was bloody stupidity. Total waste of a shirt, shouldn't have been included in the squad.
Great effort from the players who did take part. Hopefully The Don will have a word with FIFA and get another red card rescinded, although I think VAR got it right.6 -
Pickford as well! Great saves2

I would think about putting Burn in the middle of defence to deal with Haaland in the air and Konsa at right back.5

think we'll play France in the final1

57 mins in and I've done no work and my colleague is still slightly drunk from watching at the pub. Wouldn't have it any other way though13

Unbelievable up there with Englands best ever games , didn’t have the drama of a last minute goal but it was just brilliant from start to finish constantly shitting myself but enjoying the filth of it all would have loved the pure sickness of a penalty win to break hearts and make everyone suffer but will have to take it in regulation time instead.
its us v France in the final and anything can happen3 -
On holiday in Devon. Went to the pub until 11, went back to our room and waited for the broadcast to start at 12, heard the game was delayed an hour and we were so knackered we just went to bed. Woke at 3AM and watched the second half. Tremendous performance and fair play to the referee, under a lot of pressure (and with the help of VAR) got the big calls right in that second half.
Still fuming at FIFA cheating for the USA. Something has to give.9 -
Never been a massive fan of Bellingham since he's gone to Madrid... Feels like he's let the move there get to his head a little bit e.g. look at how they behaved when Bayern dumped them out of the Champions League... Feel as well he can go to ground a bit too easily when playing for England thinking he's playing in La Liga as well at times. But his attitude playing yesterday, even his interactions with team mates when he scored, and his post-match interview, thats the version of Bellingham I always hoped we'd see... there was no doubt during and after the game that it was all about England rather than himself, which maybe isn't ever the case and is just the wrong persona he potentially gives off3

They also cheated letting Ronaldo in right away when he still had two more games to miss. The goals he scored in those games shouldnt be included in golden boot discussions, imho. Petulant preening prick. (not you)12 -

Think Madrid is a tough place for a young player to go. Feels like with the weight of expectations on all their signings there has to be a bit of a Galactico or billy big bollocks attitude just to survive there.ForeverAddickted said:Never been a massive fan of Bellingham since he's gone to Madrid... But I think last night was the real Jude on and off the pitch.5 -
I think to be one of Real Madrid's star performers at 23 you have to have something of an ego. Along with Kane he's also carrying a lot of the national team's expectations so far too, which takes tremendous self belief.ForeverAddickted said:Never been a massive fan of Bellingham since he's gone to Madrid... No denying he can sometimes come across as a bit of a pillock but few people as famous and under such a spotlight at his age wouldn't be now and again.6 -

You may well laugh but I have a delay in getting the posts come up then 20 are there at the same time, hence why it looks like I'm posting old news 🤷🏻♂️1 -
There was a bit right near the end where the player was about 5 yards from Bellingham but he had absolutely nothing left in the tank. So great to win it in normal time as I think even the fumes some of the players were running on would have run out in extra time.
We have grounds to call up Don Gianni and request a suspension of Quansah's suspension. It's a red card all day long but so was Balogun's. Neither were intentional actions by the player to hurt the opponent.10 -
He hit him studs up, red card all day long and if there is now an ‘iffy’ opportunity to get a red card rescinded/postponed then it’s far better to bank it in case of need for a later round if we keep progressingAllHailTheHen said:There was a bit right near the end where the player was about 5 yards from Bellingham but he had absolutely nothing left in the tank. Surely the FA/FIFA need to relook at this law. When the ball deflects the players foot in a significant fashion the challenge becomes more accidental and less misjudgement ( plus no intent -although this is a lesser factor in circumstances, if there was intent then then its a major factor).red10 said:Is it just me but did Quansah's boot end up higher than intended due to the ball under his leg plus the forward motion of the tackle?, purely accidental? Also, King Kane will be forever remembered for that post match interview, feckin hilarious ....Well done to them all, a real battle and watching from behind the sofa after the red.
However does the force of Quansah tackle means that it can be described as out of control?
For me the USA player tackle is horrible- raking studs down the back of the leg and a possible career destroying tread on the opposition foot turning the ankle. Lack of intent-maybe but horribly reckless. Worthy of one red and a yellow at minimum, possibly 2 reds for one action. Why are the pro's and pundits defending him??1 -
Thats the thing. There should be no opportunity. The suspensions have to stand but FIFA are corrupt wankers who openly bend the rules. The lack of self awareness the likes of Infantino have is staggering.letthegoodtimesroll said:

One of three truly world class players that we have. I genuinely don't believe there's ever been anything wrong with his attitude, i think it was just media nonsense. Bellingham (in my opinion) has never given anything less than 100% for England.ForeverAddickted said:Never been a massive fan of Bellingham since he's gone to Madrid... Let's not forget that although we made the Euro 2024 final, if it wasn't for his overhead kick we'd have been dumped out in the last 16 by Slovakia.6 -

I defiantly agree with your last sentence. If you pick players for what they bring to the squad then do that, just take them along for the ride and don't include them in the named squad, call them coaching staff or great blokes to have around. Hendersons minutes against Panama weren't that good, not quite a headless chicken but included a poorly taken corner and a lot of pointing. I'm not fan of his, (who'd of thought that), or some of the other choices in that squad. But thats football, I enjoy a good moan and a shout at the telly even when we win. I know Tuchel knows a great deal more than me and he's the one who has to account for decisions made. I just feel we miss out sometimes with sticking with "safe options" that don't really inspire the imagination or have the ability to do the unexpected.SporadicAddick said:

Very good performance by the team last night BUT the same problems are still there as in the group games and against Congo where we looked somewhat tactically lacking and a bit too predictable a lot of the time. We rode our luck a little at the start of last night, it could have been a different story at halftime but we broke well and took our chances. When I've had my nap later on I'll probably wake up and start remembering the time Norway beat us.0 -

I'd concentrate on stopping the balls into Haaland, I don't think Burn will be able handle the striker.DennisBooth said:I would think about putting Burn in the middle of defence to deal with Haaland in the air and Konsa at right back.2 -

Have to say I disagree with this - I think Tuchel got his tactics spot on. I think it cannot be understated how difficult a match that was for us.charltonkeston said:

As England failed to qualify for anything between 1970 and 1982, I have no primary school memories of watching England

Same routine. I was in Barcelona for a rock festival (Bad RKO had been.put back an.houreligion and The Offspring - great evening) and got home with half an hour to spare only to find KO was put back for an hour so I had a quick siesta and woke up for the second half. To be honest it felt as if I was asleep and dreaming but felt sooo good at the end. Up the pub for the next one.Algarveaddick said:On holiday in Devon. I was talking about all the matches not just last nights. First half against DR Congo was up there with Belgiums first 85 minutes v Senegal. The Ghana group game is easily forgotten as well.FishCostaFortune said:

You are wrong. It’s called being part of the team and it’s a great togetherness that England squads are made of these days. Happy to see everyone celebrating a win together, no matter if they were an unused sub.charltonkeston said:
