We haven't batted well but Finch becomes the second unlucky dismissal. Run out backing up for 18 (20)

    99-9 (16.2)

I had planned to go down to Canterbury for this. Thankfully I wasn't able to.

Surrey 92 (14.2) all out. Kent win by 8 runs. You missed a corker!

Likewise - looks like I did well to miss this one. At £33 (on the gate) so far not great value.

Sorry. Just woke up. It was all a dream. Surrey won by 9 wickets with 11.2 overs to spare. Nightmare!

Really worried for Josh Phillipe. Seb tells me, from his experience of spending an evening with him and David Moody (nephew of Tom and who recognised Seb from when they played against each other in the Kent League) in an Adelaide bar, that Josh is one genuinely lovely guy. Mixing with those Surrey boys is going to soon knock all that kindness out of him.

Please do pray for Josh 🙏🙏🙏

What an astute signing he's been. Class act.

Kent captain Sam Billings said: “I don’t think I’ve ever been part of a worse performance. We failed to adapt, to show a bit of character and get us to a score.

“That was gutless and genuinely embarrassing.

“It’s just really disappointing to me. I know it’s raw now, but I think a couple of games ago we were talking about what changes you might need to make a winning side.

“People need to be really fighting for those spots and making the most out of the opportunity.”

Need to get rid of Rogers first, awful signing for a overseas player.

Today's Kent Premier League game between Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks Vine appears to have been abandoned due to a dangerous pitch. I haven't been watching the game but, looking at the stream, this follows immediately after the dismissal of Michael Waller - he was hit on the hand from a ball from George Garrett that rose off a length. That delivery in isolation wouldn't have been, in isolation, the reason for coming to this decision.

I can't recall the last game to be abandoned in the KPL for a dangerous wicket but I'm afraid that, as I've said previously, the wicket, outfield and facilities are simply not up to to scratch. None of the parties involved, the Council, Kent or TW have the sort of money available to them to rectify the situation and I do fear that we will never see another Kent match at the Nevill.

Yet ANOTHER housing site for the TW area I suspect..... :'(

Having a mid morning coffee in Canterbury today and spotted a certain Kent batsman approaching....Good spot, Fanny!

" Hi, Zak ! See you tomorrow " with a thumbs up & a grin....

A quick half smile & a speedy re rereoute to an adjoining street was the response.

Maybe he's been dropped although was looking good last night for a while.

PLEASE let's get a bit of pride back tomorrow, lads . If we can't beat Middx we are in a very bad place.

But off to The Three Tuns for the match tonight so might not care too much about tomorrow after that !

The last KCL game abandoned due to the pitch was at ODCUACO I think two years ago...that was a div 1 game though. Brave and very difficult decision by the umpires to abandon this one.  For info, another player was hit on the helmet by a length ball! The league will have their say soon I suspect.
