184 all out. Kent win by 99 runs
A decent prep with all the batters and bowlers getting a decent opportunity to shine3 -
Away from this game - from the highlights I see on a lot of Kent’s under 18s games on nvplay, Selvey -Clinton looks a real prospect! Could be the next youngster off the ranks to make an impact soon enough0

Don't tell Surrey. Damn1
-
Selvey-Clinton's grandfather, Graeme, started at Kent but moved to Surrey whereas his father, Richard, made his pro debut at Essex and then Surrey, albeit in a short career. It will be interesting to see what happens with Leo and for that matter his sister, Chloe, who has twice hit 150 for Kent U16s this season.BarnehurstBob said:Don't tell Surrey. Damn2 -

The 14-man squad for tomorrow's game against Northants has been announced. From the 13 selected for the Norfolk game, out go Compton, Quinn and Flintoff (who was 13th man) and in come Dudgeon, Milnes, Dawkins and Curtiss.

Like the look of that squad for tomorrow. Milnes in for Quinn is a big improvement. I’m hoping to get down to Canterbury tomorrow to cheer them on.
It’s a different game, but Northants were impressive in the T20 finals.3 -
nice changes, think jas singh, curtiss and Parky wont make the cut1
-
Kent won the toss and elected to bowl. Evison, Jas and Curtiss left out.3
-
The strip here at Canterbury, like most others around the country, looks a bit of a road. Vasconcelos has already got his 50, but Northants have also managed to throw away two cheap wickets off Grant Stewart, with catches by Jaydn Denly and Sam Northeast. 91/2off 19 overs.

Evison really is struggling. During that curious Leics loan, he played 2 CC games and 4 Blast games. In the Blast he only bowled once, and had one double figure score of 26* in his final game.Addick Addict said:Kent won the toss and elected to bowl. Evison, Jas and Curtiss left out.1 -
And Grant Stewart has his third wicket; the prize scalp of Vasconcelos, caught magnificently at square by Matt Milnes. 97/3.4

I'm out at yet another hospital appointment so am following on BBC at the moment.
What's the attendance like ?
Not into the hundred so am wondering if there's many others like~minded.1 -
114-3 (25)
The prize wicket to get now is McSweeney as he does have that ability to go big.0 -
I was surprised when I got the the park n ride at 10.45; it was rammed and I had to let one bus go. But I’d say the ground is about a quarter full. Good atmosphere though.Miserableoldgit said:

Evison has been lacking in confidence all season with the bat but although not taking wickets he has shown the ability to not get hit out of the park at times. That said, I think the only way that he was going to play in this game would have been instead of Ekansh, who has a higher ceiling at the moment with both bat and ball, or Jaydn who offers the ability to be a second spinner as well as a batter. It would be exceptional for us to go into a 50 over match without two spinners and in the land of the blind, Parkinson is the current number one.killerandflash said:

205-3 (40)
One suspects that the final 10 overs will be bowled by Milnes (3), Dudgeon (2), Stewart (1) and Parkinson (2) with the other couple of overs either from Ekansh or Jaydn.2 -
Ekansh takes the wickets of the two "in" batters, namely McSweeney and Bartlett, in the same over
211-5 (40.5)4 -
Ekansh Singh has just removed both half centurions just as Northants were looking to accelerate. Singh is bowling with real venom.Addick Addict said:205-3 (40)

Ekansh bowls McManus too
212-6 (42.1)2 -
If anyone had asked me about Ekansh three years ago, I would have said that he is a classy top order batter and not even referred to him as an all-rounder, such were the limitations of his bowling. With Kent's guidance he has bulked up and now has that ability to bowl a heavy ball. Once he starts converting those 30s and 40s into hundreds, we will have one hell of a cricketer.7

Wicket to Milnes
240-7 (45.5)1 -
Parkinson bowls Proctor round his legs
242-8 (46.2)1 -
A serious talent, considering he's only 20 and still at university.Addick Addict said:If anyone had asked me about Ekansh three years ago, I would have said that he is a classy top order batter and not even referred to him as an all-rounder, such were the limitations of his bowling. LBW to Dudgeon
253-9 (47.5)1
