    I haven't read those pages and I'm not claiming corruption. If Messi goes down in the exact same circumstances in the semi final, I'm sure we'll get the same decision.

    At last,how wonderful to see someone being interviewed telling the interviewer to virtually stop talking like a pratt and listen to what he says.I am really pissed off with these,mundane"how important" questions that people get asked.Tuchel gave a very honest opinion and he was spot on.Bellingham the same,stuck up for his mates.

    Regarding the whole wearing of Viking helmets and the rowing thing, are we letting this slide as enough time has passed since the whole raping and pillaging thing and if so how long until the Germans can turn up in SS helmets goose stepping through the stands? 😉

    It’s cold enough, particularly after games like last night, to suit a higher pace pressing game. Given how tough all our games have been I suspect England will have an edge on fitness and mental stamina levels that the Argentina players have yet had to match to progress to this game.

    I didn’t mind either reaction from Tuchel or Bellingham in the post match interviews. Tuchel is right to praise the resilience but also demand more because he wants to win and knows England can be better and will have to be to win. Likewise, regardless of any lack of control or fluency for periods of the game, winning football matches at this level is hard and the players put plenty into it in and Bellingham is within his rights to stick up for the players.

    End of the day, we must not lose sight of what a dramatically different position it is for us that we are a bit dissatisfied that England didn’t secure a World Cup semi final spot in more convincing fashion, compared to our, not too distant, history of crashing out of tournaments, at the quarter finals or earlier, in disappointing fashion. 

    At least semi finalists in 4 out of the 5 major tournaments since the “Iceland Incident” at Euro 2016. Still short of an ultimate prize but that’s not a record to be sniffed at. Keep buying a ticket and you probably win the raffle eventually. 
    Yeah i agree with that. We are ranked 4th in the world and we have got to the last 4.

    Pre-tournament i thought the draw would shape up with us playing Brazil in the heat in Miami and it would be a struggle with us potentially going out in a close game or on pens. So to reach the semi's with a great chance against a far from solid Argentina is a good achievement.

    I do think we are a good Rice performance or/and two starting wingers playing well away from being World Cup finalists.

    If they click then I think we can beat anyone.

    We are better at football than them lot. I said on the main WC thread France would be a different matter as I don’t think we are better at football than them. But don’t need to think about that yet.

    It’s the Argies and against us in particular we know what’s coming up.

    Cheating, trying to hurt Bellingham, trying to get him sent off, FIFA coming to their rescue, a spawny deflected goal.

    It’s what they do and what they have done for years. This isn’t about simply about beating them at football. It’s about overcoming all of the above first and foremost.

    France have Argentinian officials for their match. "CORRUPTION" they shout. France win.
    Trump calls Infantino and red card rescinded. "CORRUPTION" they shout. USA lose.

    This corruption nonsense isn't very successful.
    In our game Kane tackled from behind and goes down, claiming a free kick. They go on to score. The review says no free kick. So do you believe that would have happened if Messi had gone down. 
    In the Argentina v Swiss game, the Swiss have a player sent off  for a second yellow for diving. Doing what Messi does in every game.

    Famous last words and all that but they were very close to going out to Egypt and Switzerland ran them to ET last night.  They aren’t the team they were 4 years ago and if we step up I am confident we have every chance of going through to the final. 

    Agree with what you say about how they will approach it.  We haven’t played them since 05 but they’re an old enemy so hopefully there’s a bit of that rivalry that will be front and center of the players’ minds.  We shouldn’t fear this one

    The good news is that BBC will broadcast the England semi final and final so I won’t have to endure Matterface and Dixon on England duty again. In many ways the ITV coverage has been very good but my heart sinks when I realise the comedy duo are once again in charge of commentary duties.

    Yes they do some the authoritative panel of Keane, Neville and Wright with their lovely rooftop location, to the lightweight Matterface, spouting awful cliches like a local radio DJ. 

    Matterface was insufferable in the last 5 minutes of extra time, prattling on, rather than just letting the natural tension of the occasion lead.

    Why are they using spidercam. I thought drones were what they use now, certainly at test matches they do, spidercamhas been gone few years now.
