One of those faces that I know I can walk up to and have some pleasant words with…..he remembers my name too, which is always a nice thing when you become elderly.
    One of the good guys.👏

Great news for Mick and his family, one of the good guys for sure at the club.

Many a time Mick along with @Tracey made it possible for our dogs attend fund raising events at The Valley, it was well documented at the time ME stood front and centre with others when southall was asked to leave, he also made @Redmidland Memorial Day run so smoothly with access and parking for his family who travelled down to London.

One of the most upset to hear Micks diagnosis was was Wally’s wife Angie’s I told her after she asked me to pass on her thanks, ironically Micks good news comes only two weeks to the day Wallys ashes were laid to rest at the memorial garden, so I’ll choose my moment before passing on the news, I’m sure Angie will be chuffed for him but it’s more a case of me choosing the right moment.

What wasn’t well known about Mick was it was him that supported Nathan Chapman during the reign of burger boy, while others supported in the background for (rightly so) fear of losing their jobs Mick came along to that London hotel and gave examples of bullying to the rhinestone cowboy of other staff (normally junior staff) who had told him of their experiences but stopped short of reporting to officials at the club.
While I had no qualms about reporting what was going on Mick could have potentially lost his job although I don’t think that was important to him, although I remember saying “I expected be banned” for my part he said “not while he was at the club”

Ive been in touch with Mick via WhatsApp since he received news of his diagnosis offering messages of support like “stay strong, you’ve got this” But knowing what to saying and feeling pretty helpless it’s pretty much the best I could offer.

Definitely one of life’s good guys and one I’m proud to call a mate.

That pint is waiting when you are ready Mick.
