I think tomorrow is finally payback time for the previous instances of cheating. If our lads can keep their heads and not rise to the bait we win this comfortably 3-1, if the pinching, niggling wind up merchants succeed in getting to a few of our key players then history could repeat itself. Somehow I think these lads are too switched on to fall for it this time

World in Motion been on loop all day. Shitting myself over this one.

I know the club v country thing has been done to death but getting to the World Cup Final would be up there for me.

    Not saying it’s better.

But honestly if we won the World Cup that’s me in tears. Only football match that’s ever done that to me before was 1998.

Starmer will have a field day when he criticises the trouble that there no doubt will be on the day.

Argentina fans have been at it already. The only real trouble so far has always involved them. They started on England fans in Miami as there’s a large population of Argentinians in the city. Also saw a video of 3 v 1 English bloke inside the stadium.

I wouldhave liked Egyptian officials though!
I shouldn't think they're very high up the refereeing pyramid.

    sorry

    Just landed in Atlanta.

If I open the FIFA ticket app and see my ticket with the words “England V Argentina” written down I get proper goosebumps
    We landed earlier.
Had a few beers in Fado on Peachtree street.
    Great bar
Ah, Fadó. They've got one in Philadelphia as well. I was a local there for the three months I spent working in Philly in 2004. Amazing pub. Pretty much lived there. Watched us beat Pal-arse in 2004 (Dennis in the last minute).
  • think we are due a proper performance against the Argies.
The worry is that then becomes our 'final' and we get tonked embarrassingly by the Frogs or Spanish in the final.
We have just had two totally sapping games against Mexico (altitude) and Norway (heat and humudity).
We should have just enough left in the tank for the beating of Argentina, but then nothing left against the French (probably) in the biggest match and footballing spectacle in 60 years.
I do hope I am wrong as I usually am.
Every game England has played so far has been totally sapping and each time they’ve taken a breather and regrouped for the next even more totally sapping game. This squad has been building resilience. We will do the same again after the Argentina game.

I’m not totally convinced it will be France in the final with us.
    😉

now just need to sort out tomorrow nights game

That's the other dimensional  reality we should never see.

I am sure Tuchel will ensure this but the history of the fixture is absolutely meaningless. We play a dangerous but not great team and if they want to put an outside edge on it, let them. Our goal is not revenge but getting to a World cup final and ultimately putting another star on the shirt. Tuchel told the players before the tournament that that was the mission and it is irrevelent who we are playing.

Thats the dream isn't it, all of us are emotionally charged to the gills and thr players be ice cold, focussed, not distracted and in no doubt about the objective and instructions for the game.

I have only thought the Azteca game was fiery in terms of an actual atmosphere and we handled that in the perfect way with two first half goals even if we did get handicapped by the officials, we did exactly what we had to do and it was only the sending off that spiced things up for us and meant it became a siege

Yep, if I remember rightly, Ant & Dec had Brazil, and Lineker got Spain.

All down to Saka then. If he can top that table this year, we win the World Cup.
