Our people needed help and I'm very glad our then PM went against the wishes of her own cabinet and sent our troops in to help our people.
Those people still want to be ours and that's all that should matter here.

So worldly that she hasn't got a clue that her government lied to her and that every single person that died in that conflict is down to that government and with people still suffering from it, her current government uses it for posturing.

People on here can't have it both ways. Many would rightly condemn our players doing similar over WW2 to the Germans. I had a German girlfriend and lived there. I would have strongly condemed it. I am always able to disagree agree or pull up people I love and respect.
We've had English people on this forum saying they didn't mind the banner. Strange you haven't attacked them.

FIFA just do what the White house say with this WC and the irony of Trump saying we have free speech in the USA means just a small fine will be given to Argentina for the banner as Infantino will brown nose the Orange man yet again.

Coming back to the "4 years is a long time" point, I had a look at the 2022 squad - Kalvin Phillips, Grealish, Foden, Ben White, James Maddison, Mason Mount - all still aged 30 or under now and not in the 2026 squad - only Foden was anywhere near I think.North Lower Neil said:

And 5 years rather than 4 but if after Euro2020 you'd have said 21 year old Jadon Sancho (just moved for £73m) will be done with England within a year, then unwanted by basically everyone at 26....

The Argentinian players are entitled to their opinions but FIFA warned there should be no political gestures. As this was one I think a one game ban is reasonable but FIFA won't follow through with it of course. Maybe I am wrong but had we won and had a the Falklands are British banner, there would have been. It is the same as their bad behaviour with early fouls and indeed Paraguay's behaviour which the ref allowed but FIFA didn't take seriously. I think South Americans get a bad behaviour pass for some reason.
But we shouldn't allow this to make us forget the biggest betrayal of all. We were told Tuchel wasn't Southgate. Southgate was a national hero who we wanted to leave because of his fear when going ahead. We were told Tuchel was totally different. The only difference was that he was worse. He had enough subs to put on fresh legs and also put on some offensive pace and give us a genuine outlet. He bottled it. That is as clear as day!3 -

The USA did, of course, strongly support the military coup and junta, as they did similar regimes in Chile, Brazil and Uruguay.
