Well that was a very lackluster performance.
They looked better across the whole pitch. Did NJ pick that eleven to make some sort of point to the owners.
Bell and Assimwe terrible defending today. Jones was off the pace as well. Did we have a midfield. Leaburn seems to be playing as a provider which he done quite well not his fault that no one else can take advantage of the chances created.0 -

Not getting the feeling that Browny is a fan of Carey.This is quite a difficult watch - at least I’m sitting in the garden looking out at the sea now the 4G coverage has improved here.1

Poor goal to concede with the runner not tracked by Coventry and Kaminski not using the pace of the ball to turn the ball wide. Probably the biggest problem has been the midfield, created nothing and, apart from Fullers run to set up Leaburn then Carey we have created very little, once again if we don't give Tyreece the ball there is very little chance of anything happening, lots to work on Nathan.0

Koumetio looks ok. But the rest is same old, same old. Midfield is at a far lower standard than Wimbledon. Cov and Doc are sitting too deep and only succeeding in playing across the pitch. TC and Fullah are not in the game and poor Leaburn is left to fend on his own. Carey flits in and out but forgot his shooting boots today.0

This game reminds me of the pre-season friendly 2 years ago, in that Wimbledon look the far more accomplished side.We went on to get promoted that season after a poor first half of the season but we’re now competing with the big boys of the Championship.
We urgently need a couple of midfielders who can make a forward pass.5 -
I like Coventry as he breaks up play really well defensively but he is infuriating the way he constantly passes backwards there have been loads of occasions he has had the chance to play forward through the lines but unless it’s a high punt long ball normally straight to their keeper all he wants to do is pass backwards.1

Try not to get wound up by PSFs but it is really hard not to when you are watching a Championship Team who’s only discernible pattern of play is backwards > sideways > sideways > hoof1

I thought NJ might abandon the new system and go back to playing 5 at the back early in the season but at this rate he'll have thrown in the towel before we face Reading.2

It’s the only system this squad can play. It protects the defenders and it ensures the midfielders’ lack of ability is masked . I was questioning why a midfielder can’t just turn around and pass it forwards instead.But it’s simply that they aren’t good enough to play a pass through the lines. Doc at least has desire and energy to run forward when it but Cov is just too negative and passive next to him.0

Well yeah Cov and mostly Doc have been bullied but we already knew that, and so do the club. As someone earlier said, we need a tempo setter, we need the EFL equivalent of a Rodri and that would solve nearly all of these problems.blackpool72 said:
