I have no idea but a few A League players have signed for other WSL and big European clubs already this year, so hopefully we've picked up a decent talent, I'm hoping a striker or creative midfielder1

Outperformed her xG last season although she did score half of her goals from penalties. Paris FC finished second in the league, ahead of PSG last season. Add that do Leah Davidson having won the A League and we're signing players who are used to winning and having a lot of the ball. Will be interesting to see how that translates to us losing a lot without the ball. Will be a big change for them6

New format and name of the League Cup has been announced.
The Subway Players Cup will be split into two stages – the League Phase, and Knockout Phase.The League Phase will be played primarily during the UEFA Women’s Champions League match rounds and will replace the previous group phase.
All 23 participating teams will compete together in a single, unified league table, where each club plays three home and three away fixtures against teams in their regionalised section.
Fixtures for the League Phase will be announced on Thursday 6 August at 12pm.
In total, there will be 69 fixtures in the League Phase, with these played between September and December with three points for a win. For any game tied after 90 minutes, a penalty shoot-out will take place where the winner receives two points, and the loser is awarded one point.
Following the conclusion of those games, the teams who occupy the top eight positions in the league standings will progress to the Knockout Phase. This will take place from January through to March, with the quarter finals across January 13 and 14, 2027 in the following structure:
1st Place v 8th Place (QF1)
2nd Place v 7th Place (QF2)
3rd Place v 6th Place (QF3)
4th Place v 5th Place (QF4)
The winners of those fixtures will then meet in the semi-finals across February 10 and 11, with the higher ranked team from the league phase earning home advantage as follows:
Winner of QF1 v Winner of QF3
Winner of QF2 v Winner of QF4
The final will then be played at a to-be-confirmed neutral venue across the weekend of March 13 and 14, 2027.

Katie Bradley has gone to Newcastle which is a good move for her. I liked Bradley and felt she would be a decent squad player to have around but she was probably offered more playing time and more money to go a team who will be looking to push for promotion this season. I hope she does well2

And in other "Formerly of this parish" news, Emma Bissell has joined Bristol City and Gracie Pearse has joined Sheffield United. Good moves for all three.3

It's hard to say how we'll line up this season, whether Hills will stick with the 343 or move into the 4231 she trialled against Leicester. I hope we bin the 343, I get the strength of the 3 at the back but we couldn't win the midfield battle against Ipswich and Portsmouth so having a midfield 2 is just asking for trouble in the WSL. If we assume it's more like the 4231 then as it stands the squad has (and some of it is a bit of a guess with the new ones):
GK: Whitehouse, Koivunen, Pedersen
RB: Johnston, (Newsham)
CB: Skeels, N'Dow, Lobato, Waldie
LB: Mason, Hutton
MF: Humphrey, Davidson, Kenney, (Ross)
RW: McAteer, Siber, Partido
LW: Lockwood, Fitzgerald
ST: Azzaro
So a lot still to do there. We're weirdly well stocked in goal but Newsham won't play this season so we'll need more than just Johnston at RB and we surely can't be planning to put Fitzgerald there again. Waldie couldn't get a game in the WSL2 so a new CB is a must. Left back we're okish unless Hutton is now a striker in which case we need another. I see Humphrey, Kenney and possibly Partido if we use her at 10 all as more attacking players despite the shift Kenney put in deeper against Leicester so a proper defensive midfielder to replace and improve on Flannery is essential. I don't think a single one of those wingers outside of Partido is anywhere near WSL level and we've only got one striker as it stands. That's assuming we play with a back 4. If not then Fitzgerald and Siber become WB options but that leaves us even lighter on the wings and really light at CB. If we want to stock the midfield more and play 352 then we need a thousand more strikers. Loads of business needed before September but plenty of time to do it in, I think some of the next signings will give more of an indication of how we plan to play but there's some very big spaces to fill in terms of quality even if the numbers look ok2 -

I can see us going 352 and using Partido and Lockwood as 2nd strikers. Still need more up top and midfield tho, but probably means we have enough at fullback/wingback and in defence.0

She posted pictures in Instagram of a day trip to Brighton recently. Still using a crutch. It seems she will be out for the whole season.0
