Charlton women news - 2026/7 fixtures (p210)

I have no idea but a few A League players have signed for other WSL and big European clubs already this year, so hopefully we've picked up a decent talent, I'm hoping a striker or creative midfielder

She's left footed and 5'7, hopefully she's going to add some much needed firepower 

Katie Bradley has gone to Newcastle which is a good move for her. I liked Bradley and felt she would be a decent squad player to have around but she was probably offered more playing time and more money to go a team who will be looking to push for promotion this season. I hope she does well

It's hard to say how we'll line up this season, whether Hills will stick with the 343 or move into the 4231 she trialled against Leicester. I hope we bin the 343, I get the strength of the 3 at the back but we couldn't win the midfield battle against Ipswich and Portsmouth so having a midfield 2 is just asking for trouble in the WSL. If we assume it's more like the 4231 then as it stands the squad has (and some of it is a bit of a guess with the new ones):
GK: Whitehouse, Koivunen, Pedersen
RB: Johnston, (Newsham)
CB: Skeels, N'Dow, Lobato, Waldie
LB: Mason, Hutton
MF: Humphrey, Davidson, Kenney, (Ross)
RW: McAteer, Siber, Partido
LW: Lockwood, Fitzgerald
ST: Azzaro

So a lot still to do there. We're weirdly well stocked in goal but Newsham won't play this season so we'll need more than just Johnston at RB and we surely can't be planning to put Fitzgerald there again. Waldie couldn't get a game in the WSL2 so a new CB is a must. Left back we're okish unless Hutton is now a striker in which case we need another. I see Humphrey, Kenney and possibly Partido if we use her at 10 all as more attacking players despite the shift Kenney put in deeper against Leicester so a proper defensive midfielder to replace and improve on Flannery is essential. I don't think a single one of those wingers outside of Partido is anywhere near WSL level and we've only got one striker as it stands. That's assuming we play with a back 4. If not then Fitzgerald and Siber become WB options but that leaves us even lighter on the wings and really light at CB. If we want to stock the midfield more and play 352 then we need a thousand more strikers. Loads of business needed before September but plenty of time to do it in, I think some of the next signings will give more of an indication of how we plan to play but there's some very big spaces to fill in terms of quality even if the numbers look ok
