Hopefully with the signings of Grant and Alli (as well as TC) we are moving towards a system thats not one striker and two wingers per se but rather three forwards who can all switch around and go wider, drop deeper or play through the middle with flexibility midgame. I seem to remember Leaburn also started out as a wider player before his growth spurt so he may also work in that system.sam3110 said:Grant moving up top with Godden dropping deeper at times, and Knibbs pulling wide left. Would expect Danny Cowley is desperate for Gough or Mwamba off of this. Doubt he'll get them but I suspect one of the 21s will end up there7

Josh Laq in particular had reviews that he was playing far too low and that was playing out of position in midfield. He also hasn’t looked hugely out of place when he’s needed to step into the first team. I think his move last year was just to give him some men’s football and the window was closed.Crispywood said:

Enslin probably would be playing a step too high but he looked quicker and a bit stockier in pre season to me.
We saw last season, we need to give our loan players challenging moves. That’s what helps them deliver3 -

I think they’re both better than that, probably more about the loan deals they could get at the time. They’re not miles off Mwamba and Gough, and Ewens-Findlay managed to get a L2 loan. They could move up a few leagues quickly with the right loans, all five need bigger tests than u21 football.Crispywood said:
