Ignore my pessimistic views on the summer thread. I'm chucking a ton on us to go up via play-offs
    Typical negativity from you.

    Automatic promotion for sure  :)

Got to be mindful of the competition, as they are poor, but, there has been a lot I've seen that I like tonight.

Who is the trialist, people saying Chabolah, What's his history?
Chabolah, eh? That's a new one to me.

HT 0-2 …. Very good first half from Charlton Knibbs and Grant stand out players and Mwamba looks a player .. Chalobah tidy wants the ball to dictate the play .. we look dangerous going forward , just got to improve our passing it’s slightly off but that will come ..

Grant almost had a second as well, but for a very smart save. He looks sharp for having had almost no pre season.

    Hahaha Bromley are beating Millwall
Millwall lost to Stevenage and Gillingham, do you reckon their fans reacted like ours after the Wimbledon game?

If their fans were able to form coherent sentences I'm sure they probably would have.

That setup looks great. 4 at the back including two mobile fulbacks.. An experienced defensive mid in front of them (Chalobah). Another mid who can tackle and run with the ball (Mwamba, tho he is not ready for first team yet). Three mobile wingers/attackers next and a striker. Great set up. Just need the Mwamba type to come in now, assuming we can keep Chalobah.

Decent half that I thought Knibbs had his best performance so far for us hopefully he has a big season and he shows what we hoped we were buying. Grant also looks sharp. Billy is sheer class be amazed if we don’t sell him before the window shuts lol

He's always been a tidy finisher. And loves a shot. Imo he's only 2nd to Godden.

Cannot watch where I am. Who is playing in the back 4, Gough or Chalobah?
Sorry: Southbank already answered that above.

If we sign Chalobah, I would like him to play where Conor Coady did, as a fairly static CM. It might protect his fitness better.

So Billy’s class, Knibbs finally looks like the player we’ve signed and a fully fit Godden scores 15 next season. What’s not to like?
Because finally playing Knibbs in his proper position

Looks like a 4-2-3-1 for #cafc: Mannion - Ramsay, Gough, Koumetio, Mesik - Chalobah, Mwamba - Grant, Knibbs, Olaofe - Godden

Campbell is obviously quicker and better 1v1, but can see already that the experience Karlan has just means he usually makes the right decision when he has the ball which makes such a difference.

Karlan starting on the left, with TC or Alli coming on from the bench is an exciting prospect

I really hope we don't loan out Mwamba.

Nathaniel Chalobah is a midfielder. His brother Trevoh is a Chelsea central defender

Very impressive attacking display so far, and I have to say Koumetio looks an absolute Rolls Royce

The championship is so different to pre-season. He’s got way more time on the ball here and it’s physically much less demanding. Fullah looked a world beater last summer but found the championship much more difficult. I’d loan him out with the plan that he has a good loan then is in our squad next season

Have to be fair and admit my current negative attitude allowed me to spit the dummy at the thought of Chalobah, only a half against Colchester and he slowed a little by halftime, but thought he looked ok and worth the trial.

Leaburn and TC on for Godden and Grant.

Looks like Asiimwe on too, assume for Ramsay

From what I have seen, worth a go on a year contract with an option in our hands for a further year.

Looks a giant in midfield (which we lack at times) and I like the look of his attitude, seems composed.

Oh I agree 100%, just don't want him to have one of those loans where he plays 5 games in about 3 months or something
