“Dael Fry, a 28-year-old home-grown English defender for Middlesbrough, will be out of contract this summer. He is considered likely to leave the club, especially if they are promoted. Charlton Athletic has been identified as a potential destination for Fry. Sheffield United and Stoke City have also been suggested as possible clubs interested in him. Fry is viewed as suitable for Charlton Athletic because he would be a free transfer, which is consistent with their transfer policy, and he has extensive Championship experience. It is thought that he could integrate into the team at The Valley without difficulty and compete for a position as Charlton prepares for the upcoming season. The defender is a former England U21 international with 11 caps and 2 goals for the team. He has made 21 appearances and scored 2 goals in the Championship this season. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated to be €4.00m.”

Robins eye Clarke as Skubala plans new faces
Bristol City want to sign Ipswich defender Harry Clarke.
New Robins boss Michael Skubala is looking to bring the right-back to Ashton Gate with doubts over Ross McCrorie's future.
Scotland international McCrorie - who has interest in the Championship and Europe - has 12 months left on his contract and is yet to sign a new deal, with City wary of losing him for free.
Bristol City were in a similar situation with Zak Vyner and Anis Mehmeti last summer, before accepting cut-price fees for the pair in the winter window and they joined Wrexham and Ipswich respectively.
Clarke, 25, spent the second half of last season on loan at Charlton, making 19 appearances, having previously been on loan at Sheffield United in 2024-25.
He joined the Tractor Boys from Arsenal in January 2023 and has played 67 times for the club, scoring once.
Clarke made 39 appearances in all competitions when Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League in 2023-24 and also helped them up from League One the season before.

Lorient: Things are moving for Sambou Soumano
Having reached the end of his contract with FC Lorient , Sambou Soumano will be packing his bags and leaving the Breton club. The 25-year-old Senegalese striker leaves behind a very respectable statistical record since joining the club in the summer of 2024. With 21 goals and 6 assists for Lorient, he has proven his effectiveness and his ability to be a significant threat to opposing defenses. Now, the player is looking for a new and ambitious sporting project to further develop his talent.
Naturally, his free agent status hasn't gone unnoticed. While several clubs in France and Turkey quickly identified him as a potential low-cost reinforcement, it's in England that the interest is currently strongest. According to our sources, the player's athletic profile is highly appealing across the Channel, with very concrete offers coming from Derby County (Championship) and Charlton .

EXCLUSIVE: Dundee reject bids from English Championship side for Billy Koumetio
Dundee have knocked back several bids for central defender Billy Koumetio, Courier Sport understands.
The 23-year-old is expected to be a key man for the Dee in the coming campaign.
But his performances last season have brought interest from England.
Koumetio’s contract at Dens Park runs until next summer and the Dark Blues are keen to extend that deal.
Billy Koumetio and Luke Graham built a strong partnership last season.
However, Courier Sport understands Dundee have received several six-figure bids for Koumetio’s services from English Championship side Charlton Athletic.
Bids that have been rejected by the Dens Park club.
With Koumetio’s fellow central defender Luke Graham expected to move on this summer, the Dark Blues don’t want to lose two talented youngsters in the same position in the same window.
Both Koumetio and Graham have travelled with the Dark Blues to Hungary for the club’s pre-season camp with training near Budapest to begin on Monday morning.”

“A few updates -
Holsgrove - Nathan Jones is “desperate” was the word I got, to sign him. They have spoken a few times. However, the lad at the moment favours a move to Germany where he has some offers(wasn’t able to get the clubs). At this stage seems very unlikely.
Lloyds contract - Will get more info next week as I was told last Friday him and Godden deals were pretty close.
One of the players whose contract we are in talks to extend has told the club, the team needs 7-9 signings this summer. 2/3 squad/ rotation players and the rest starters. Also that the squad needs more pace and power too.
If the players don’t see much ambition and have offers from elsewhere then they would they stay?
It’s all very quite on the incomings front at the moment…”

Ivan Mesík joins the Addicks
Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Slovakia international Ivan Mesík.
The 25-year-old, left-sided defender joins the Addicks from Dutch side Heracles Almelo for an undisclosed fee.
Mesík has put pen to paper on a four-year contract to become the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
“I feel amazing," explained Mesík. "I've had a good welcome here, so it feels great from the start and I can’t wait to get started.
“I've heard the stories about the fans, they're amazing - always putting a lot of energy into the team - so I can’t wait to meet them here and I hope we'll be successful together.”
Manager Nathan Jones said: "We’re delighted to add Ivan to the squad. We’ve monitored him for a while and he comes with real good pedigree playing in the Eredivisie. He’s a player that we’re excited about - he’s an excellent athlete, a great size and very versatile in terms of being able to play down the left-hand side and can cover the right side as well.
“He’s someone that’s really hungry to do well. We beat off an awful lot of competition to get him and he'll provide a wonderful option down that left-hand side.”
Managing Director James Rodwell added: "As with the signing of Collins Sichenje in February, Ivan is a player we’ve tracked for a long time. We’re being targeted in our recruitment and looking to cast the net further and wider when identifying potential signings.
“Ivan has a profile we believe fits our long‑term plan, and we’re confident he has the potential to grow with us as we continue to build in a sustainable way.”
Born in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, Mesík began his youth career at hometown club MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica before joining Spartak Trnava, where he earned his professional debut in May 2019.
Following an impressive 2019/20 campaign, the defender signed a five-year deal with Danish Superliga side Nordsjælland.
Loan spells followed in Norway at Stabæk Fotball and Odds BK before Mesík earned his first call-up to the Slovakia senior team in the summer of 2022.
After two successful seasons with Italian side Pescara, he moved to Heracles in June 2024 and has since earned 63 Eredivisie appearances.
Mesík has three international caps to his name having made his Slovakia debut in a Nations League clash against Slovenia in March 2025.

Gassan Ahadme joins Cambridge United on loan
Gassan Ahadme has joined Sky Bet League One side Cambridge United on a season-long loan.
The striker, who has made 23 appearances for the Addicks since arriving in the summer of 2024, spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Stevenage.
Ahadme now returns to Cambridge where he enjoyed a successful loan spell under Neil Harris in 2023/24, scoring 13 goals across all competitions.
Manager Nathan Jones said: “It’s an excellent loan for Gassan. He’s going to work with someone who he’s done very well for before and someone that I know will get the best out of him. Neil Harris is excellent at coaching strikers, so we’re really pleased that we’ve managed to secure that because we haven’t seen the best of Gassan yet. He needs to get that fluency, that game time and that rhythm and I really do think he’ll get that at Cambridge. We wish him all the best and we’ll monitor him closely.”
Everyone at the club wishes Gassan the best of luck during his time at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.
