    21:41 - Nuno Mendes - Record:

Charlton joins the race for Holsgrove: Estoril has already rejected a €2 million offer.

Championship club may make a new offer soon.

Championship side Charlton have joined the race to sign Jordan Holsgrove, the 26-year-old Scottish midfielder from Estoril. According to Record , the British club have already submitted a €2 million offer for the Estoril number 10, which, however, has been rejected.

However, Nathan Jones' team has not yet given up on signing the midfielder and may soon present a new offer for the player who scored 1 goal and provided 7 assists in 35 games in 2025/26. A Scotland under-21 international, the footballer has two more years on his contract with Estoril.

Besides Charlton, Werder Bremen, Augsburg and Hamburg from the Bundesliga, and Wolverhampton, where César Peixoto plays, are also interested in the player who came through Reading's youth system. Estoril wants €3.5 million for the Scottish player, who in turn wants to leave the Estoril team in this summer transfer window and take his career in a new direction. Germany and England are the leagues that appeal to the footballer.

The Estoril number 10, it should be remembered, has also played for Atlético Baleares and Celta de Vigo in Spain, Olympiacos in Greece, and Paços de Ferreira. He has been at Amoreira since the summer of 2024, when he left the Greek team on a free transfer after a year on loan to the Canaries.

    [On Holsgrove]

"5/6 weeks ago we were very much bottom of the pile. Now other clubs have pulled out and things are starting to change.

All of Holsgrove family and close friends now want him to join Charlton. The pull of being in London is a big factor in that.

With the signings we’ve now made, Jones has concrete evidence we have better attacking players than we had last season.

    Over to you Jordan……"

17:06 - Jordan Cross - 'The News' (Portsmouth)

Portsmouth latest over chase for Hull City’s Abu Kamara with Charlton Athletic

Pompey remain on course to bring Abu Kamara back to Fratton Park.

The News understands the Blues are pushing forward with their eye-catching bid to bring the League One title winner back home to PO4.

Pompey push forward with Kamara bid - and the player wants to return

And crucially there remains a strong desire from the former Fratton favourite to make the move back to outfit he spent a memorable 2023-24 campaign with.

Pompey this evening are quietly confident of seeing a deal through to fruition, after publicly making their interest in the 23-year-old clear.

There’s competition from Championship rivals Charlton Athletic, however, with boss Nathan Jones looking to strengthen his right flank this summer.

It’s Pompey who appeal to Kamara, however, as they bid make another statement of transfer intent after upping their transfer spendings.

There are obstacles to overcome to see another sizable deal to fruition, for the man who moved from Norwich City to Hull City for an initial £3.5m two years ago.

They are believed to lie between the player and his agent, but there is a conviction at the Fratton end those issues can be dealt with to push the move forward.

The Tigers and Pompey are aligned when it comes to agreeing on a fee, though those advising Kamara are believed to be keen to sit tight and wait until later in the window to see what develops in terms of other potential interest.

John Mousinho and the football operation are pushing to get transfer business over the line, with it just over a week until the EFL curtain-raiser at West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

Pompey will want to be in the best possible position by the time Championship action commences at home to QPR on August 17.

The News reported nearly two weeks ago optimism was on the rise over landing Kamara, though Charlton then emerged as a viable alternative for the Londoner.

Reports then suggested Hull and Pompey were on the same page over a deal for the player, though the agent may have had other plans.

For all that talk, however, the Blues have made it clear the man who bagged 10 goals in his term at PO4 is wanted - and that’s not gone unnoticed by Kamara.

Now it’s a case of pushing forward with the deal, as they bid to add to the five players recruited so far this summer.

Odin Bailey, Eoin Kenny, Rocco Shein, Daniel Bielica and Marko Milovanović are the quintet through the door so far.

Foxycafc is being monitored by Premier league sides who admire his extensive research and ability off the ball to seek the latest news, near and far.

Afka doesn't want to lose the young talent from the Charlton life academy but if there is a concrete offer from the elite money rich teams in the Premier then his present contract of a weekly packet of Jammy Dodgers won't be enough to keep him in the ageing CL squad.
This will be taking the biscuit if another promising young wordsmith is poached.
Two other young talents were grilled and fried in recent times.

Some say the pen is mightier than the sword but personally I would pick the sword over the pen in a duel.

Great work by Foxycafc 👏🏻 who is one of our own for now and I have heard Real Madrid are interested as he has an ology in Spanish whereas Double Dutch is the language of choice by many.

    Eddie Howe has left Newcastle.
Sussing out what’s going on isn’t rocket science.

Could Foxy start a thread just detailing confirmed transfer rumours?
I prefer the chat about unis and nights out tbf.
Same. A friend once handed me a pint of sick on a night out in Newcastle. Congrats, Foxy!

I'm back, and I'm ready to suffer it all over again. No A-Levels to worry about this time, just the terrifying and exciting prospect of moving away for uni in September breathing down my neck (Charlton Life posters… they grow up so fast).

If you're new to this thread, I'll be collating all the rumours for this window in a chronological fashion for your viewing disdain. The first few pages will be redundant as they're stuff that happened months ago.. I am a bit late.

Right then, only 10,962 posts to sift through! See you in a few hours. UTA.

    Welcome back Foxy.

Which university are you hoping for?
I'm off to Newcastle to do Modern Languages. Should be fun!
    Newcastle? Quel dommage.

Mais les jeunes filles sont soit très en forme, soit vraiment impatientes, ou peut-être les deux
    Is that German?
    Non.

Seems like a deal has been agreed for Whiteman to Wrexham too.

    Good deals all round imo."

"Tyreece Campbell being linked to Preston North End.

Had heard the #cafc winger was beginning to draw interest as window begins to ebb away.

TC will be out of contract at end of this season. Under 24 and so liable for compensation if no new deal is agreed. Believe that figure would drop though if he was to move cross border (like Joe Aribo did)."

"Had no indications that Charlton are close to selling him. Or that they will let him go. But this window looks to be the last one that can get a decent fee. Equally no indication if TC would want to go right now. Even if he does, he might prefer to stay and run his deal completely down."
