I really hope it's one of the wingers/forwards rather than a defender as it means we're more progressive and less 'backs against the wall' - but who am I kidding, it'll be Lloydy

I dont think we've signed that player yet - whether its actually Holsgrove or not, this midfield addition is going to be the difference one way or another. Chalobah showed what we need our midfield to do (and I am not saying we should definitely sign him specifically) - but we need someone to start progressive moves and drive things forward from midfield, not endless recycling sideways-backwards-HOOF like last time.

    L. Jones also important but if we actually do go to 4 at the back instead of the old 3 5 2 he may not be quite as dominant/influential as before, though he will no doubt still be great.
I give the 433 about 3 games .  Maybe less if we lose to Reading and Cheltenham
And what about the 4231 we’ve actually been playing?
I hope that Nathan has decided to be flexible in the formation - and change it around to (a) match up to whomever we are playing or (b) be less predictable (as I think we were last season).  So we need some flexibility with the players.

Obviously Lloyd Jones. If Edwards was fully fit, I’d have him there too.

Billy Koumetio.  A lot of our transfer business depends on us being able to adapt to the switch to a back 4. Lloyd has been brilliant for us for a 3 and at times spectacularly poor in a 4. Every time we've played a 4 under Jones even in L1 we've looked terrible. We know how good Lloyd is but he needs someone alongside him at his level. It won't be Ramsay or Bell in a middle 2 and Sichenje is more comfortable on the right so Koumetio turning up and being a left footed Lloyd Jones would allow us to utilise our wingers properly and set up like we want to. If not then we're suddenly looking at a fair bit of money spent on wingers we're not playing
I'm glad someone finally said it. Jones in a back two just isn't the same as in a back three. We're a much better side now than the last time we played with a 4-2-3-1, and I don't think our defensive frailties were just down to Jones, but it's a risk to switch to a back 4 when we have so many players, including Ramsay and Bell, who look so good in a back 3.

I'll say Kayne Ramsay. Right now we're weak at RW, though I expect that to change. But if we get an attacking RW, we're going to be relying on Rambo a lot to do his doggies and his defending for him. I think as Kayne goes at RB, so our team goes. A close second is Bell at LB for the same reason, though with Mesik and Edwards I think we have better cover on the left, whereas McNamara is more limited on the right.

I'll let you know when the window closes and we've signed him.
    This.

    Dobson?

Now off to check the rumours thread, to see if that's got mileage yet.

Reckon it will be Grant, don’t think the change in formation and style will make Lloyd as good + Koumetio looks like he will be a fan favourite making Lloyd stand out less as a CB.

We were absolutely useless going forward Grant may be the only attacker which won’t frustrate the hell out of everyone

As things stand I'm struggling to see it being anyone other than Lloydy. No offence to him, but I hope it's not. I'd like to support a team whose most influential player is further up the pitch.

    I don’t think we’ve signed him yet
    This.

The piece of the (midfield) puzzle has been missing for the last 2 seasons.

If we find that missing piece then that will be the key to our success this season.

Conor Coady.  Pay him whatever he asks for and get the show back on the road.
