    One plane leaving Phoenix Airport at roughly the same time as another plane arriving isn't a coincidence.  Both planes being on the same frequency also isn't much of a coincidence.  The arriving plane descending from 11,000 ft (to ground level) while the other plane is climbing towards 9,000 ft isn't a coincidence. 

    Both planes heading towards a single point in space isn't a coincidence. And it isn't even noteworthy, because, of course, air traffic control can and will advise each plane of its most appropriate altitude setting and heading, by using each plane's unique call sign, in turn.  

    But what is a coincidence is when the two aircraft are arriving and departing the same airport at the same time, heading through the same altitude, converging on the same point in space and communicating on the same frequency, with the same call sign. 

    Both planes were using the call sign AAL2482 ("American 2482").  

    Here is how it played out.  One air traffic controller deserves a lie-down and a pay rise.

    In one of Charlton's latest promo videos there is a guy with a young child shown. The child really looks like my Daughter at that age and her son now ( my Grandson). I sent it to her joking is this her Sons real Dad - she replied saying she knows the guy as he was in her Primary school class and he married another of her primary school friends!

    My my daughter took her youngest to Paphos two years ago and her youngest got friendly with another girl there and over the two years since they have kept in contact albeit infrequently.  Last contact they made was just before they broke up for school in July and wished each other a happy holiday.  Early last week my daughter and her two were on holiday in an hotel in Ayia Napa and at the breakfast table on their first day this friend of my grand-daughters wandered over and said hello.  Neither had any idea about the other's holiday.

    Just caught up on the latest comments about Rodwells appearance the other day and then clicked onto BBC news straight to the below, not sure where the shades have gone but it explains a lot (but sadly not why it takes so long to get bog locks fitted at The Valley)

    A Danish band called D-A-D is playing in Auckland next year. Rare and first time they visit NZ. They're playing a tiny venue because outside Denmark they're not that well known (although they had some limited success in NZ and Australia).

    Earlier today I purchased a ticket for the concert and I texted one of my mates back home about it. He replied with a video of himself watching them live at that exact moment at a concert in my hometown in Denmark.

    One coincidence that still makes me laugh happened a few years ago.

    I was sitting in a café waiting for a friend who was running late. An older guy at the next table was reading a book I'd just finished, so we started chatting about geometry dash lite.

    We ended up talking for maybe 15 minutes. Before leaving, he mentioned he was from my hometown, which was another nice coincidence.

    A week later, I was at my parents' house and mentioned the conversation to my dad. He asked, “Was he an older guy, always wearing a blue cap?”

    I said yes. Turns out he was my dad's old school teacher.

    My dad hadn't spoken to him in almost 30 years, and somehow I randomly met him in a café hundreds of miles away. Small world.
