The use of the word "fractional", instead of "part time".

@PaddyP17, from a recruitment perspective, is this now common parlance?

It's creeping in there, yeah. I think "fractional" is meant to imply that while someone works their main job part-time, they are available (and allowed) to do other consultancy gigs on the side accordingly. So while I think it's a bit of a nonsense term, it serves a purpose.

Jeremy Beadle was famous for having a very small penis.

On the other hand, it was quite large.

Screen menus in cafes that change just before you've chosen, so you had to stare blankly at the staff until it changes back

Having my SD Card fail whilst transferring Images to my PC, after a 10-mike hike this morning of all days - Thankfully I've got more than enough experience rescuing lost files, even after formatting the device, so looks like I'm getting them back... At the moment its the only thing saving me from having the mother of all childish meltdowns

Couldn't you just ask one of the Mikes if you could have copies of their photos?

Freestyle libre blood sugar testing sensors. I switched to them a few months ago after 45 years of the finger pricking strips. On paper they’re a great idea but in practice they’re fucking useless. They’re suppose to work for 2 weeks but the 5th in a row has just packed up after less than 5 days use (this one lasted less than an hour). Am on holiday but luckily brought a couple of packs of the old style as back up or I’d be fucked.

The rubbishness of Caesar salads in cafes and restaurants. There always seems to be something missing even if it's listed on the menu.
I want crisp chopped romaine lettuce, croutons, parmesan and a dressing that includes anchovies. Nobody seems to be able to manage this.

As someone who flys over regularly this is the one thing that I find astonishing.
However, on the way from St Pancras to Canterbury yesterday, that line was immaculate and it was lovely.
And am now in Wingham and it’s beautiful.
So some can look after their areas and it shows 🤩

It's a beautiful part of the country. Wingham's about 10 minutes from me.

I love litter picking round where I live - I find it really therapeutic. It’s one of those jobs that you can see the difference after you’ve been round.
Yesterday I went up one of the country lanes and got so much stuff. Is chucking stuff out the car window or dropping your rubbish on the ground new? I can’t remember it being like that when I was younger but I probably didn’t look.

Drove from Munich to the Saltzberg on the Scenic Autobahn.  It was the main highway into Austria.
Not one one tyre casing on the side of the road, no bottles of driver Tizer.
Not even an overflowing bin in the road side stops. London always has always been a litter strewn mess.
Nothing but admiration for those that litter pick in their own communities

Keep Britain Tidy was founded in 1954 to campaign on tackling the growing issue of litter. They have a history section on their website that goes through different issues with littering decade by decade, as well as action that's been taken to try and curb it. I think the amount of littering happening probably ebbs and flows, but it's been an issue in this country for around 70 years now.

I had barely heard of him, but there were loads of people at Kings Cross yesterday going back up north wearing their t-shirts and hats. Amazing that a country singer can glean so much interest, after about five decades when a cowboy couldn't get arrested. I guess it is as a knock on from cod country albums by Beyonce and cod country singers like Taylor Swift becoming so popular? Having listened to a couple of his tracks, he is not bad.

Check out Dale Watson and Dwight Yoakam, Nick.

I've just come on here to say pretty much the same thing.

The state of the pavements in London at the moment, I don't think I've ever seen them as dirty as they are now but I guess thats down to the severe lack of rain we've had so they don't get a natural wash.

The twice weekly walk between Victoria station and South Kensington via Belgravia and Brompton is the filthiest I can remember it in the last 5 years since I started working there.
