Apparently Ouma was meant to fly in from Kenya on Friday, but has yet to arrive.15

Lighten up. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment. I genuinely think Kaminski is a limited goalkeeper, and I'm certainly not the only one who holds that opinion. You don't have to agree with me, but there's really no need for the personal attacks.Redhenry said:

I know it’s not the thread for it but if the season started next week (oh hang on a minute) I would put Kaminski in goal all day every day. Saved us a tonne of points last season8
-
Of course I have no idea but I’d be shocked if we get both. I hope we do because it means we can manage game time for Chalobah but I’m beginning to think Ouma is who we’ve moved onto from Holsgrove.MartinCAFC said:
Agreed but if in the unlikely event we got both Ouma and Holsgrove then I could see Docherty leaving as he would be easiest to move on. Another ruthless decision if so.ShootersHillGuru said:If we’re getting Ouma or another then I can see why people might think Doc could be off but personally I think Jones would prefer to keep him. Doc’s been instrumental in the successful period under Jones and unless Doc prefers to go elsewhere to ensure game time I think he could very well stay.0 -
If I had to choose one, it would be Kaminski without question. Ideally though we end up (probably next season at the very soonest) in a place where we don't rely on either.DamoNorthStand said:I know it’s not the thread for it but if the season started next week (oh hang on a minute) I would put Kaminski in goal all day every day. Probably too late for anything to be done GKwise, but he did not save us a tonne of points, if NJ rated him that highly he wouldn't have lost his place in the side.DamoNorthStand said:I know it’s not the thread for it but if the season started next week (oh hang on a minute) I would put Kaminski in goal all day every day. They played their cuptie at Goodison Park yesterday as their ground wasn't in a fit state. Not sure if that's the stands or the pitch.Rothko said:Just find this Preston stuff a bit odd, they’ve not a squad that could play a friendly, sold their best player and a takeover that never seems to get done. Yet they’ve magically got £5m to spend, OK, sounds like convenient spin from the club to placate fans0 -

Coventry was MOM best player in the pitchCrispywood said:Think that game clearly highlighted where we’re still lacking.Chalobah miles better than Coventry need someone else on his kind of level to partner him. Looked like we didn’t play with a RW annoyingly Grant and TC just so much better off the left and if we can find a team to take Kaminski so we can sign a new no.1 would be a miracle
And thinks Ouma is out of this world.

Not ruthless at all. Most managers would have got rid of him this summer or last summer.MartinCAFC said:... I could see Docherty leaving as he would be easiest to move on. Another ruthless decision if so.1 -
I doubt it . I suspect he’ll be starting with Coventry next weekend . He’s a true Jones favourite and clearly a good guy .wolfgang said:

Maybe a heads then. All your posts come across as trolling, maybe you’re trying to be funny, but it isn’t.MrBurns said:

He’s a good guy but if you want to play this different style he has to go. That doesn’t apply to Cov or JRC who are both much better footballers.

Doc is worth keeping this year as the 4th or 5th option. Yes we are trying to evolve as a team and yes if he’s playing more than 20 odd games we’ll likely be at the wrong end of the table but when it gets to the depths of January and we need a willing runner to help us grind out a result or two, we’ll be wishing we kept him around.12

Agreed. I don't particularly want to get rid of either Doc or Coventry, but they shouldn't be the main starters, they will certainly have a part to play howeverCallumcafc said:Doc is worth keeping this year as the 4th or 5th option. I read everything on here because I enjoy it but let's call it what it is, 99.9% waffle. Really don't get insulting and alienating the few people actually putting rumours on the rumour thread.
but yes won’t be sharing anymore what I hear. Seems like people would rather listen to their own hot air than actual real info.Enjoy0 -
So you agree with my earlier post that the problem we cannot get rid of the deadwood is basically financial?fenaddick said:

Squad spaces are the last of our issues. We have plenty of players who are not Championship standard, and who never will be, who we can drop from the squad. The basic issue is money.I’d be very surprised if we signed chalobah, Ouma and Holsgrove - squad spaces start to become a real issue
2. If still no luck, pay them to leave
3. Bomb squad. NJ said we were going to be ruthless
But your logic is confused because you have fallen for the "sunk cost" fallacy. The large financial cost you mention was in signing this dross in the first place. The cost of getting rid of them is tiny compared with that, and may be worth it to clear the place of sulking players stinking the place out.
I have not followed the news about banning the "bomb squad" system but I am not surprised. If the clubs make blunders signing the wrong players they should shoulder most of the blame. But most players will eventually move on if a "stick and carrot" approach is judiciously applied. Unless they are being paid huge amounts like Sterling and Sancho, most will get the message they are not wanted and opt to restart their careers elsewhere.

I'm overdue my Friday night tug, I'm gonna whack this Oumas highlights reel on.
I work almost every Saturday now and live in Shrewsbury unfortunately, so the youtube thing is pretty much dead in the water unless I find another job and move back down south.
I'll be going to any games I can though 👍🏻
Was must-watch viewing for me and the boy after every game, thanks for what you did & keeping my fingers crossed for a comeback, even if for a few one-offs here and there.
Cheers gents means a lot.BartramBlitz said:

Last season we lacked depth in the squad so I wouldn't be in a rush to lose our experienced midfield cover and captain.
JRC is more likely to be surplus to requirement with Mwamba the under 21 bonus player.5 -

Am I the only one who thinks that the whole Ouma situation has been blown way out of proportion?
One whisper by a (trusted) poster, from a bit of gossip from an unauthorised source, and half of us have signed him on a 4 year contract...
Maybe it was all smoke and mirrors...3 -
But then you also have Jones and Cawley confirming we’re bringing in another signing in the next few days which lines up with what’s been said.SteveACS said:Am I the only one who thinks that the whole Ouma situation has been blown way out of proportion?

Maybe it was all smoke and mirrors...Maybe it’s Ouma maybe it’s Holsgrove maybe it’s someone completely different my only concern is that who we do bring in is going to be a shoe in for the starting XI3 -
If only there was a phrase or saying, some initials even, that conveyed the meaning that transfers are only to be fully believed once they have been reported through official channels.SteveACS said:Am I the only one who thinks that the whole Ouma situation has been blown way out of proportion?
