I would go for Bentley from Wolves but I guess he is happy picking up a big wage to play the odd cup game

Like the Kayne Van ooevelen shout from Ipswich. He’s available for loan and Ipswich just paid 4 million for him. Hope he’s actually one we are after

TK is shocking, we need better. The rumoured £20k a week is scandalous.
    Is he shocking though?

I can think of a number of times last year he made absolute worldy saves to keep us in games.

he’s limited but shocking is a bit OTT I think
Shocking may have been a tad harsh, he did make some poor mistakes last season.
There were plenty, the one that always sticks in my mind is the Hull game at the valley where he tried to get a foul on one of the Hull players. Just fell to floor expecting the refs whistle
Are you referring to Hulls goal? If so, he was being pulled back, photos were added to the post match thread at the time clearly showing the foul
That was never enough to bring him down. Light as anything

Mannion should’ve been given a chance in the champ, he was perfectly fine in League 1.

I actually can't believe you wrote that without fact checking your info. Just to update you, Kaminski got injured just before the Chelsea cup game, Mannion deputised and retained his place, played eight more games with two clean sheets, he was selected even when Kaminski recovered from his jnjury, this was the case until the howler at home to Bristol City and another fumble when taking a cross at Sheff Wednesday.

He played nine games and was incredibly unconvincing. He also had the howler against Bristol City. He’s unfortunately not the answer.
Both of you read the second part…
I did. I guess I don’t understand “should’ve been given a chance” and “he’s not the answer”. So you want us to play him for sentimental reasons and drop points because he was a good servant two years ago?
No, Kaminski was not a meaningful improvement on WM and should never have been purchased in the first place.
We need a much better keeper than either of them
  • I don’t think Kaminski is the “worst” per se, however he has a fair few clangers in him, doesn’t command his box at all, and I dunno if I’m trying to be too much of a body language expert but he’s always seemed disinterested to me, and that’s not even to mention the rumours you hear about him throwing tantrums when not playing etc (again, don’t know if that’s strictly true.)

If he’s on as much as we think he is especially then I definitely think it’s worth getting rid and replacing with a new number one, as I don’t think Mannion is completely up to it either.

Aberystwyth' you had a go at Garrymanilow yesterday, plus a few others, it's quite clear that you think winding people up on here is a great source of amusement. I have some news for you, the gig is already taken mate ! If you don't mind, I'm happy for you to post what you want but I think it's best to ignore you and I'd advise others to do the same.

Anyway, back to the more pressing issue, when’s another CM signing?

Kaminski is far from a perfect keeper, but the Mannion comparisons are laughable. Statistically speaking Kaminski is far superior in almost every category, the only category where Mannion has a slight, and it really is a sliver, edge is aerially.

Grateful for all Will did in our promotion season but if he's our number 1 this season, we could have prime Pirlo in midfield and we would still be relegated.

If Kaminski has decided to move on than fair enough, but if we are shipping him out to run out Mannion or some untested premier league youth player then I'd be extremely concerned.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but at the time there was absolutely nothing wrong w signing Kaminski. He had played for Belgium, was an experienced proven championship keeper and had won POTY in a prem team before his first ever disappointing season.

If anything I think it’s because Kaminski came with such a high reputation, high expectation and big wages that he’s getting more flack because I was expecting one of the best keepers in the league and him turning out to being incredible average has what has made him so disappointing

Mannion has lost all confidence but Kaminski doesn’t do anything well .

Interested to see you point out where I had a go at him?

How am I winding people up by saying a professional keeper should have stayed on his feet and played until the whistle.

thank you for being happy to let me post what I want, I was really worried that you weren’t, give your head a fucking wobble,

This simply isn’t true. I would like us to upgrade our keeping options but Mannion did ok last year.

His save percentage was above Kaminski’s, his goals conceded/per game was below Kaminski’s too.

Neither of them are bad enough to determine relegation and both are ok to be called upon.

If a club wants to take Kaminski " home " then it's a convenient way of moving on a fairly well paid player, who's been nothing special in reality.

That there's even a debate over which keeper should be No 1 doesn’t say much for his debut season.
  • Any savings made on TK should be slapped on topping KR and TC new deals!

Mannion has lost all confidence but Kaminski doesn’t do anything well .
Can you genuinely not remember any of the saves that he made from various one on ones and point blank shots? I’m wondering if I am making up memories in my head now

I think it will be a case of agree to disagree on Mannion.

One thing I did find interesting from the number crunchers is that Kaminski was rated slightly above average in comparison to the other keepers in the championship (with the one "attribute" slightly below average being his aerial ability which I think we all agree on)

I do agree that his rumoured high wage within our squad probably negatively influences the opinion on him, as we expect more from a high earner. I'd be interested to see where his rumoured wage falls in comparison to the other keepers in the league. Not sure he's above average for the league, but I don't know the wages of the other 23 starting keepers last year. I imagine the likes of Beadle and Vitek were on much higher wages.

Can't believe nobody has picked up Perreira from Reading! Always plays a blinder against us and his stats are impressive.

If a club wants to take Kaminski " home" ...
He is Belgian. Sparta are Dutch. He would have a long walk home after the game.

Different nation, different league, though if they had any sense they would merge the two leagues. It would raise the standard and make their top clubs more competitive in Europe.
  • Moving on the first choice keeper you bought only 12 months ago is certainly ruthless, if true.

I don't think either of our keepers are top notch and successful teams, bar maybe Brazil '70, have top notch keepers.

Might be an interesting last few weeks of the window.
I can't help thinking that wages are a big part of this move if it's true?
Yes we need a 1st choice replacement but given our apparent budget restrictions we are probably freeing up some serious wages for an expensive incoming midfielder or winger.

I actually looked up where he's from and it's surprisingly not as far from Rotterdam as I thought.

Then again, as the song goes, Rotterdam is anywhere ...

Well he’s not getting a move to Liverpool or Roma so this is the best he will get

I wonder if Shef Utd might stick a bid in for TC?
Pretty sure they were interested before and with Gus Hamer now sold, Chris Wilder has said they're making bids for players.

I put "home" in inverted commas... Flanders and the Netherlands are a short distance away, culturally very similar,  and speak the same language.

Might be a family decision too.

If he is going to be sold would be nice to try and get a bidding war going between them and Preston

Sorry, the international clearance office don’t work Sundays. Come back tomorrow with your form and we’ll put it at the bottom of the pile.

Both keepers aren't good enough, so if we have the chance to move on from them I absolutely would.

However, we aren't going to be able to sign a keeper if we don't shift one of them on. Kaminski is the more likely one due to his experience.
And in his defence, and I have been critical of him, Mannion is young enough to learn and improve.

I do think his morale is shot, though. The free kick he threw in his own goal, and the Wednesday howler, seem to have crippled his decision making.
