We won’t be able to clear the space in the squad to sign one. We should be fine with McNamara, Sichenje and Burke all fine to play there
JRC as well to be fair.
I was thinking the other day that JRC reminds me a bit of Sean Clare. Played the best football of his career as a right back but decided he doesn't want to do it anymore and sees himself as a centre mid. He was apparently superb at RB for Blackburn in a season where they finished 7th but can't keep up with the game enough in midfield. I think he'd be great for us at RB, he beats his man with skill rather than pace and having a RB who can get past the first man with his winger still running in front of him can open the game up so much. Much like with Clare I think he'd be better off getting over the desire to not play RB, there's more football for him if he does

Sorry, I am out and about but I strongly believe so.
I thought Henry would see him from the museum window!

As I'm a member of Admin now, can we stop with the past Charlton goalkeeper comparisons.

It's got no place on this thread and anyone caught shoe horning a GK display they saw against Port Vale in 1927 will be banned.

    Thanks.

I suppose this isn’t the time for me to pass on a review from my Polish forklift driver who is a Lech Poznan fan then. Like with any player I will reserve judgment until they play for us (Kermorgant, Coady etc.) but it is far from glowing.
    Yeah, how about fork off.
Genuinely serious. A picture of my lad with the Lech Poznan mascot Teddy for reference. “He’s fast and strong but that’s about it”.
Very cute but not sure he passes the CL height test yet.

I hope this new signing to the Admin team doesn't mean @aliwibble is being sold.

I heard they were unhappy with the wages.

What goalkeeper did we have in or around 1935 who had some sort of connection to a family that owned Welling?

Why McNamara looked good on Saturday
What happens if/when he gets injured?

Then we play someone out of position, or use a Youth Player... With having limits on the size of the squad, we can't be wasting registrations on three / four Right-Backs - Its why as an option, you sign players who are versatile and can cover multiple positions, worst case scenario

Mesik can play both sides. Plus our old RCB role is pretty similar to a right back role. Burke has played at right back plenty during his career, and Sichenje will also be fine there and came on there on Saturday

We don’t have space to sign another right back

One of Sichenje, Asiimwe or even Mesik fills in.

Exactly this. NJ has resolved our FB issues of the last season + by bringing in more versatile players. Mesik can play both sides and Sichenje, Mesik, Bell and Burke can all play CB or FB.

Burke covers. Plus here never gets injured so dont try saying what if Burke gets injured.

You hate to say it but a Right Wing on loan makes JRS a possibility 😂
Heard a Sheffield Utd fan call him Jes No-Track-Backyi yesterday which made me chuckle
Good, but not as good as McStandstill lol

We get Bob Bolder out of retirement to play there

I really hope we’re still in for Holsgrove. Having him, Chalobah and Ouma fighting for two spots would be an amazing step up on last year. If that happens, I think Doc would have to go, leaving JRC and Cov, plus Mwamba (who doesn’t count towards the 25) to provide cover.

Along with Doc, I’d also be looking to release Burke. Jones and Billy are first choice, with Collins and Bell as their back-up, while Mesik and Ramsay can also play there if needed.

Lastly, if we bring in a RW, I think it probably means TC is on his way. I’d keep him, but he’s not a RW - Saturday showed that. We already have two players who can play LW, and the fact is we’ll probably get £3m for him, which makes the decision a little easier.

RW loan will be interesting. Obviously people have mentioned the likes of Cozier-Dubbery, Yang at Spurs, JRS etc , think even Kasey Mcateer at Ipswich got mentioned on here last week.

Don't think it'll ultimately be any of those.

If you add Holsgrove to midfield then you’d probably need to lose both Costello and Docherty.

If we are playing a back 4 then that really reduces the ability of Bell, Ramsay and Mesik to play CB. Ramsay and Mesik you definitely wouldn’t want playing there in a 4, Bell might be better but it’s really not ideal. So I think Burke stays and releasing him would probably cost a decent sized 6 figure fee so there’s no chance that happens
