On holiday in Perranporth this week so will get a great view.
We've got 10 pairs of specs between 14 of us.

A couple of weeks ago, I looked into a trip to Reykjavík for the eclipse. Price put me off, £2k for a three night stay. Will be going to Spain next year for the big one instead.

Unfortunately being in Canary Wharf at the time of the eclipse all I'll see is a bunch of street lights come on for about half an hour as the buildings will block anything else0

In 1999 I was on holiday in Devon and was a bit disappointed as it was a bit cloudy.
This evening I'll be watching from home. Should gave a good view as our flat faces west & about 3 storeys high. Usually get a good view of sunsets so looking forward to it.3 -

I was in north London in 1999 and although cloudy it was still quite a bizarre event - darkness, it got cold very quickly, and birds so confused they were flying straight to the trees thinking it was night time.2 -
I was stood on an outside terrace/ledge at my then office in London Docklands near Limeharbour DLR0

Gives you an idea of the distances involved. The moon will block out the sun (ok partially). You can fit over 64 million moons in the sun!1

Saw the 99 eclipse at Beachy Head, was a bit of cloud but still spectacular and also quite eerie.
Will watch today from back garden in Hampden Park. (not Glasgow!)1 -

By pure chance I'm in SW France, in the 99.4% area. Indeed i didn't even know about the eclipse until talking to a British couple on a vineyard tour yesterday, as they're driving to Spain today for it.
On my TGV train to Bayonne this morning, SNCF were giving out free eclipse glasses. I'm heading for Biaritz as the beach will have a great westward view.5 -
Got some glasses - gonna wonder down to avery hill as aparently its decent to see it from there!1

I was on my honeymoon on Puerto Vallarta, Mexico when the last one happened so missed it. I'll be dead for the one after this so better have a look at this one!0

I was in Cork City for the 1999 one, it was cloudy but you did notice things getting a bit dimmer. The locals assured me that they got an eclipse "Every feckin' day".2

There were MASSIVE queues at a pharmacy in Bayonne which had them. I was really lucky that SNCF were giving them out.1
