We well could be offering him the right money alternatively he just doesn’t want to be at Charlton anymore which you couldn’t really blame him for if he did want to move.

Our record with Docherty in the team was actually very strong, but now if he plays next to Chalobah or Ouma it’s seen as a massive failing? The numbers just don’t back that view up. Fair enough people are entitled to their opinion but I’m also entitled to say I think that it’s wrong and disrespectful  

Feels like we are trying to shut down the debate by framing it as a moral outrage. We're all here to share our opinions. Just because we strongly disagree with an opinion doesn't make it 'disrespectful'. 

Doch & Cov will always have my respect: they are top pros. I also don't think they have enough impact in the Champ. But that's just an opinion on their footballing ability at the level.

Asiimwe and Kanu will definitely leave. That leaves 2 more.

People also need to be aware that even if we sign a loan player under the age of 21, they still count towards the 25 man squad cap. We can only get around it if we are to permanently sign a player who was under the age of 21 by the turn of this calendar year.

I really hope TC stays and signs a new deal.

Personally would be happy to see Apter go on loan or be sold. One of Coventry, Docherty or Rakin-Costello are also likely to have to be moved on. 

Wouldn’t be surprised if we now see a few out the door over the next 7-10 days and we bring in the final winger in the last 10 days of the window. 

I’d take TC staying over Apter, but with his contract situation and the fact we’re lopsided now on the left based on playing inverted wingers, it wouldn’t surprise me if he left to be one of the 4 to make way for an additional RW.

The word I would use is self-destructive, or perhaps Trumpian.

I'll be surprised if we can sell TC this summer. From his PoV, there is no advantage to accepting a transfer now. If he leaves on a free next year, he'll have more options and get a higher salary.

You have to remember that Naby Sarr is a humane and kind-hearted man. He probably donates to rest homes for retired donkeys. That would naturally influence his attitude on this matter.

I know frees & loans attract up front payments, and some players such as Grant & Chalobah will be on higher wages than our average players, but our transfer outlay falls short of what most on here would have thought we would have spent by the season opener.

It probably doesn't fall short by a great deal when you factor in the Sichenje signing was brought forward from this window. An option to buy on Ouma would likely mean having to take money out of the budget as well as if he was purchased if we wanted to make him permanent so that money has likely been earmarked from the budget too.

Then you factor in recent comments from Gavin Carter which said our budget would be slightly higher than last year but may be dependent on a few sales too which to me sounded like we need to clear our deadwood to be able to make more signings.

We're currently on 28 players and if we still want to bring in a winger will mean 4 players will have to go. Agreed with the recent comment I think we're now probably going to have to see 4 players leave before the winger is signed. Wouldn't surprise me if all this goes up to deadline day. You would expect Asiimwe and Kanu to be 2 of the 4 to leave, then either Campbell or Apter and then probably JRC or maybe Docherty.

Shame it looks like the Holsgrove deal isn't happening but this is football, maybe he'll have a change of heart on deadline day if all better options are gone and we're able to move on both JRC and Docherty to create room. Could be there's not enough budget left to sign him and we'd have to use next year's budget instead but with both Docherty and Coventry entering the last 12 months of there contracts each, maybe this wouldn't be a bad idea who knows.
