Place is half empty, a bit embarrassing.

Nice having track and field on the telly. BBC are very good at this still.

Yes. Watching in the stadium with frequently 2 field events and a track race on at the same time gave me an insight into how hard it is to keep track of what's going on and avoid missing key moments in the field events. The BBC coverage is excellent.

Werro falls so we may not see the Hodgkinson v Werro v Femko Bol widely looked forward to. She can appeal if clipped but looked as though she may have clipped herself.

absolutely ludicrous that she's been advanced into the final having tripped herself

Total fix. Judges must have had extra pressure put on them. They turned down the appeal initially saying she tripped herself. Which she did.

That is outrageous! It wasn;t obvious at first but the side show she clearly clipped herself! No one else involved

I must be watching a different clip to you all. Bourgoin’s hand clipped her foot and that caused the trip. Definitely the right call.

You must be as her own foot clipped her other leg

Well plenty disagree with you, including the only ones who matter. Some people are arguing that it wasn’t deliberate but that isn’t a factor in the ruling. Can’t get the fuss as it’s not like this hasn’t happened before.

Plenty disagree with you. I have seen no evidence another athlete's had was anything to do with it. I have seen evidence her leg tripped her other

What fuss? People seeing evidence the Swiss athlete tripped herself?

Totally ignorance on the rules. If you get tripped by another athlete do you automatically get into the final, or do they look at your fastest time of the season or in a previous heat and if good enough to make the final you’re through?

If a runner is impeded during the race the impeded runner can be advanced by officials as long as they finish the race.

I think only the French athlete knows whether her left hand caught Werro’s right foot

personally think Hodgkinson is only going to get Bronze tomorrow

I think it’ll be super tight but I’m hopeful Keeley can do it. Should be a great race.

I’d guess Bourgoin saying in her post race interview with French media that she clipped Werro aided Werro’s appeal.
Should be a super fast race and hopefully a big crowd in for it.

I'm changing my mind having run this clip frame by frame https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VgGaUQfBdds
clear deviation of her foot after contact with Bourgoin's hand, great decision from the officials

I think the necessity to have finished the race is new for this season which explains why the commentators were wetting themselves over her making the effort to cross the line

I hadn't heard that, only saw the TV footage showing Werro clipping her own leg. I wonder why their initial decision was to DQ her then they changed their decision.

It's a shame the coverage doesn't allow you to lock in to just one event, but that costs £££ so understandable.

Shame Max Bergen has had to drop out of the 800m final. Surely they should have had a day's rest after the semi?

A very strange decision. Even after seeing it a few times it appeared she tripped herself. The official explanation was that somebody else's hand caught her foot.  Really?

I admit I don’t watch or read the news, but I am fairly active on social media, however, until I heard a radio interview while in a charity shop in Berwick on Tuesday, I had now idea this was even going on. Pity, as we may have planned a bit of our holiday around it.

Yes. Very clearly if you see earlier in the video..hand hits her lower leg or foot

As to whether she should have been put through, thats a different matter!
