    Maybe should've sent it before the heatwave and the wildfires, rather than after the fact....

    Think emergency alerts should be more 'there is a wildfire in your area' and keep the warnings to press briefings.

    Am I right in thinking it hadn't been announced there would be an alert? in which case it was very effective in making me realise we are in a real situation.

    Made me jump. I've recently started wearing hearing aids and they are linked to my phone. 

    Hope this will make people realise the desperate situation we are in

    I think the others have only ever been tests which is why there was pre warning. This is the first real deal one to my knowledge

    A lot of people don't take any notice of press briefings though, and view them as boring, this would have reached everyone.

    Came through on my phone first about 15 minutes ago, so I told the Mrs that Russian jets approaching the South coast and to close all windows and doors. I think shes stopped crying now, but shes upstairs opening the windows back up....

    I’m in a hospital ward and I thought the fire alarms had started . The nurses , patients and visitors phones went off . All except mine!

    FFS - made me drop my disposable BBQ

    Daughter is on the way back from Worthing - said gone off  4 times now  - when they pass new masts!

    We’re in a theatre and they are going off all over the place. Hopefully we won’t have the performance interrupted by them. It’s not as if any one is lighting bbq’s in here.

    Don't think areas in drought are expecting significant rain anytime soon though, so the wildfire risk is still high.
