Valley Gold is unfair when it's phase is too high, now it's unfair because it's phase is too low.palarsehater said:i have emailed Valley gold and raised the points
2 tickets per person ( members not on same points etc ) - no other club does this for higher appetite games, should be 1 per member.
a £120.00 a year scheme which is primarily sold as an away ticket priority scheme, and the spurs fixtures adding a further 2 phases above valley gold for this fixture - does not feel fair.
i don't have a st but have had valley gold for 6 years, games attended last season

I think the club should come up with a priority system that benefits absolutely everyone regardless of their points, VG etc, shouldn't be too difficult.1 -
well as a vg member one of the perks is " away ticket priority " given the above phases isnt much priority. thought the above was pretty self explanatoryse9addick said:

Well not fully. If someone buys me a ticket in a phase I'm not eligible for I don't think the ticket office will allocate me the points. I could be wrong thoughMrOneLung said:
Down to them to get their points allocated though.fenaddick said:
They only would if the club suddenly switched to 1 ticket and they haven't had their points allocated for being someone's "extra" tickets. Otherwise it's a pretty fair system, I don't get the chance to go to many games so I can't expect to get tickets for the high demand onesCroydon said:

That won’t change anytime soonpalarsehater said:still 2 each which is annoying.
Its absurd that some supporters who do a lot of games lose out because someone wants to take his mate/wife/fan of some other club who hasn't been to a charlton game before.2 -
palarsehater said:still 2 each which is annoying.
correct me if im wrong but a fan that has 570 points and vg can get 2 tickets and the other recipient can hypothetically be a 1 game a season type fan. a lot of other clubs are per member not 2 at a time.
Had this argument in the past and got shot down. Had lots of people ask me to get them ticket who only go on play off finals day. Others will get for mates who don't go very often as will happe this weekend.2 -
It puts you above 3 phases of people that have more loyalty points than you.palarsehater said:

advantages of valley gold are marketed as away game priority and you pay £120 for the scheme.
my main gripe is the 2 per person, should apply if buying an under 18s ticket only, that sorts the people buying them for there kids argument which i think is bs2 -
A surprisingly low starting level 590. Starting at such a low number, it seems a bit silly to have the separate VG phases in the early phases.
It obviously makes no difference, but it seems wrong that someone who's been to just about every game home and away and has 750 points is below someone with 590 + VG.1 -
Seems a bit silly to start a whole new thread, so I'll just ask here. Does buying more than one ticket not get you both sets of points? I looked at my account and thought it looked short. Was about to email the ticket office and realised that's what it was. These are for tickets which I did not allocate to another account by the way, they were only added to mine.0

You are getting priority, you're getting priority over groups of people who have attended more games and have more points.palarsehater said:

No - you only get the points for one ticket regardless of how many you buy. If you assign the other ticket(s) to other fans they’ll get points for their assigned ticket.ArmchairAddick said:Seems a bit silly to start a whole new thread, so I'll just ask here. I don't doubt it happens to some extent but I can't imagine many of the "second tickets" go to to non-Charlton supporters or people on 0 points.4 -

It would be easier if VG just gave you a set number of points every season, 20, 50 or whatever, a number agreed with the Fan Groups. That would eliminate many of the phases, and give a defined benefit for VG, rather than the ticket office having to make a decision every game.
This would have to be agreed before the end of this season for next season, to give people time to make the decision whether to purchase VG or not.7 -

I'm a lapsed season ticket holder whose only game in the last few seasons has been the Play-Off final, however I've kept my Valley Gold. I think it's mad that I've got more priority than someone who may be going to games fairly regularly. To my mind VG on its own should count for very little if you're not also attending.7

You get priority over those with the same number of points, and in this instance priority over everyone with 535 points or less1 -
OK staunch defenders of the scheme defend the 2 tickets per person?.
this is literally the only forum of a club where you arent allowed to have an opinion without some pompous reply.1 -

Fair enough then. I do usually assign the other U21 ticket to AA Jr but sometimes forget, and had a few friends along to the Leicester game last year too so thought it might bump us up the list a bit. Ah well.se9addick said:

We keep looking to get to some away games while he's away at Uni in the west country (Cardiff, Bristol) and we usually make the south coast games. Typically this year it looks like all the matches over that end are while he's back here!0 -
The away ticket allocation rules have been in place for longer than I can remember, perhaps 20 years or 30 years?
Each season when we get an attractive away game there are people that complain they can't get a ticket.
If you buy enough tickets for enough games (having read the rules), you will guarantee yourself a ticket for the "big" away games, it's that simple.14 -
