having had the privilege and honour to be invited to moderate for a period, I got to see first hand just how much they and the other mods put into making this forum the fantastic community it has become.
It really has everything. Naturally from time to time posters have spats and fall out with one another, but I would bet a substantial amount of money that if you have ever had a spat with someone on here, you’d meet them in real life and because of this forum, you’d be laughing about it in no time and you’d more than likely get on very well with them. I don’t get as much time to post on here as I did 10-15 years ago when it was a big part of my life, but it’s always going to be something I am grateful to be a part of. There’s a few of you on here that do some pretty time intensive things like FA and Sage with their match previews, and @aliwibble is an absolute legend for just how much she gives to the site. It shouldn’t be overlooked. Very lucky to have had such a part in this site both as a mod, a poster and a reader.Thank you to all the mods, and fellow posters. Here’s to the next 20 years12 -
Happy Birthday to the forum, I have to say, as someone who is chronically online, it is one of if not THE best social hubs I have come across.
Dread to think the hours I've spent reading all the threads on here. Great mix of characters and there has been many times where I have genuinely laughed out loud reading through here.

If I am completely honest, I think the club should honour yourselves and the site in some capacity. It can't be underestimated how important this site was during the tough periods and in general the amount of times someone has seeked council on here.
I made my thread about joining the Police and received great feedback, even recently I asked for help with my latest career decisions and received tons of advice and help, and of course I believe I started vlogging because of this site in a way. I remember making a thread and again receiving tremendous support and have been supported thoroughly on here ever since.
Congratulations again, you should both be immensely proud of the community you have built here.

I've been living in Australia the last 2 years and this is one of the things that keeps me connected back to London, thank you.
As an aside - I turned 30 this year and joined the forum just before I was 15! So I've been a member on here over half my life!

Relative latecomer (2014) but this is one of the few places online where I don't feel I've wasted my time, well not much anyway. I've laughed, felt sad, learnt stuff, even shed a tear at some of the stories people on here have told. I've even been to Belgium because of this site.
I was describing it to someone earlier and said that it works, because of the work the moderators put in. I think that a lot of the internet is terrible because no one puts that work in, so a heartfelt thanks from me to AFKA, Lookie and all the other mods for keeping this place so amenable. Bit late to the party but a big thanks to all you guys that keep this place ticking over and of course to the many posters we have here..even *sigh* @Leuth .
Been a member since... 2017 but spent a s good while as one of the online guests and phantoms lurking around, it's been invaluable last few years since moving abroad as a (fairly) regular contributor to the match thread that's the closest I get to being back in the stands on a match day.
Don't agree with everyone, some proper arsey stuff at times but some great moments on here as well, wouldn't change it at all.

I like the anonymity of Charlton life, that we co-exist behind our lifer names, some of the high profile Lifers I know who they are but I have no idea who AFKA, & lookout are? Not asking for a Clark Kent reveal but just be interested to know their Charlton story, how & when they became Addicked & how often they get to see Charlton home and away etc.Hugely grateful for their dedication and the brilliant site they have built for Charlton fans.3

I'm effectively a latecomer, despite joining in 2012 I was pretty much only reading and never posting until 2020-ish. I'm very grateful to the people who put time into keeping this going and keeping everyone reasonably well behaved.1
