I really think we are going to turn over a few teams this year - Jones has got the team, not quite the squad, but the team he wants - there is a balance that allows us to be a genuine threat this season.
Miles and Tc look levels above over last year - Miles today was a 9 out of 10 against what is supposedly a 50 mill defender - this is also where the club will get generate options - these young players will have decent price tags attached if they perform as they can.
Very bright start to the season - Right that's me it's 2 am over here.

What a win. Think Nathan Jones is on to something special with this group.
Cannot be understated what a job he has done in one summer to change formation to allow us to be better going forward while maintaining our strength in defense.
Early days but we could heading for the dizzying heights of 16th by the end of the season!24 -

I would like to see Mwamba and Mbick given starts on Wednesday night... think it could be good experience for the both of them, especially for more Championship battles to come - I thought it was very brave from Jones to throw them in, and was also a great confidence booster for themThey both had their good moments... but also thought they struggled as well.. In part understandable given the pressure that West Ham started to pile on, along with the likes of TC tiringBut thats why I'd start them at Spurs, continue with the good faith, and let them learn from these moments.5

they couldn’t handle TC, Grant and Leaburn but every single one of them were superb
Mcnamara was again excellent, Ramsey does not walk back into this side - he clearly said something to the fella when he missed the pen hence the scuffle at FT
the keeper had a great debut and the 2 CB’s were absolute beasts
Pay TC what he wants and sign JRS and we will have some team here….could surprise more than a few13 -

And Perry Groves said he shouldn’t have been on the pitch to take the penalty. Felt the ref actually had quite a good game too overall, certainly beat my expectations. He's not known for doing us any favours (Andrew Kitchen). Not letting Mwamba on the pitch was mystifying. Watched in the middle of the Billy Bonds stand. These fans are in for a long winter I suspect. Plenty of "can't believe we've lost to a team like Charlton". Still keeping a straight face until I get to a place of safety.

Well well well well well.I have to say, I couldn’t bring myself to say it out loud and risk jinxing it, but I’ve had a tickle for this all week.
I don’t care what any stats say. We totally deserved the 3 points. Even fate agreed when it steered that travesty of a late penalty onto the post.
Game of two halves, but we came out on top of both. Nathan Jones’ Charlton v2.0 in the first half. Honestly it wouldn’t have flattered us to be 2 or 3 up at half time. Nathan Jones’ Charlton v1.3 in the second, nicking a goal and then dogged hard work and organisation to see the game out.
Big big shifts from almost everyone but my standouts were Leaburn, TC, and Grant for the way they held the ball or carried it to both relieve pressure and carry a threat to the opposition, and Bell and McNamara for nullifying their threats outwide, particularly Bell on England international Jared Bowen, and giving Lloyd and Billy largely meat and potatoes crosses to clear.Oh and Lloyd Jones for an overhead kick that is the sparkler in the whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherry, on top of the ice cream on top of the fast becoming legendary cake that his Charlton career.
Truth is though, that was a team effort from the tactics, to the execution, to the right subs at the right time - everyone contributed.
United and underestimated, that’s when we’ve always been our best and most dangerous. Keep it up boys.22 -

I thought referee was OK first half, they must have put something in the tea at half time and gave him a West Ham shirt to wear. Apart from the penalty there was the sub and then Jones booked for receiving a push.4

May have already been commented on but our away record against newly relegated teams has been pretty good so far since promotion
