For me, the ultimate grail watch, and finally acquired this morning. Blancpain Fifty Fathoms 5010 (42.3mm).

Went into London to do some watch shopping with a mate last Friday. Managed to try on some beauties.
Speedy Tuesday Ultraman. A dream watch for me but too big 😔
Normal Speedy Tuesday. Like the reverse panda that has been copied into the new Speedy.
Speedy Reduced Schumacher. I would like the black dial Racing variant with the red and orange accents, but the 39mm case is more my size.
New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe Limited Edition. A real beauty and surprised to see it as it only came out the day before.
And the standard 38mm version.
Rolex Explorer 1 114270. The only Rolex I would probably want to own.
A couple of vintage: Heuer Carrera and Breitling Top Time, both 36mm from the 60s. Beautiful watches but I'm not sure I could wear vintage on a daily basis, especially chronographs. But everything just felt right proportion wise.
And finally, my absolute favourite - the Zenith Chronomaster A384 Revival Shadow Edition. Absolutely stunning watch that I would have bought there and then if I had the money.

I've seen a lot of stuff around super realistic fakes from China now. Apparently a hooky Rolex was repaired by a Rolex shop who were adamant it was real. They are $500 - $800 apparently and are now genuinely well made as opposed to £50-100 quid and absolute crap from some lookie-lookie guy in Turkiye. Anyone seen anything about them?0

I’d not wear anything too expensive in the west end at anytime, nor going out at night in most of London. I’d wear my Tissot PRX or one of my Orients!

I always remember going to Durban, South Africa on a business trip about 10 years ago and choosing to leave my Tag at home just to be safe- I bought a cheap and cheerful Casio digital watch and I dug it out the other day. Still works, accurate to within a couple of minutes despite being left in a drawer for most of those 10 years. £15 well spent1 -
I don't think any copy, however good they have now got, will really match the mechanism of a true Rolex, Patek etc. There's a reason they are a few hundred dollars!Swisdom said:

Yes if you want accuracy, don't buy an automatic or manual wind watch, even the best chronometers are guaranteed to 3-4 seconds a day.
That said I have a 1953 Omega manual wind, which measures 2-3 seconds a day, thats not been serviced for at least 25 years.0 -

Lug to lug yes, but also and probably more importantly the bezel. Visually a 40mm Submariner (or any dive watch) can look similar to a 36mm Calatrava - the dials are about the same size due to the thicker bezel on the Sub. It's an optical illusion really.1 -
New from Christopher Ward - first automatic chronograph from them in a long time. Look nice.
