Hope this follows the same pattern with Harvey Knibbs that we pulled out the deal then he signed up anyway5

Embarrassing look from us. Suspect the news coverage was us trying to force the issue back fired and we look like muppets. At least we can enjoy a new stop gap centre half and natural left wingers playing on the right.Fucking joke1

Or did he fail his medical?AberystwythAddick said:Embarrassing look from us. Suspect the news coverage was us trying to force the issue back fired and we look like muppets. At least we can enjoy a new stop gap centre half and natural left wingers playing on the right.Fucking joke3 -
Koumetio has a dodgy injury record - I’m surprised he played. Gutted for Collins .0

Hopefully this is just an over reaction after the match itself.Crispywood said:
Let's hope the board understand the situation.
There is still the possibility of a loan?
Free transfer market temporarily?
Does those two injuries really have to cause us to pull out of the JRS deal?
Seems a bit of an emotional initial reaction0 -
Collins has been injured twice since he’s got here. Real recruitment head scratcherwmcf123 said:Koumetio has a dodgy injury record - I’m surprised he played. Gutted for Collins .0 -
You’ve made a couple of massive leaps there.AberystwythAddick said:Embarrassing look from us. Suspect the news coverage was us trying to force the issue back fired and we look like muppets. At least we can enjoy a new stop gap centre half and natural left wingers playing on the right.Fucking joke
Think everyone needs to calm down and see what the next few days bring.15 -
Glad I’m out the country the next few days, that’s for sure..
My worry for this season was that the bulk of our squad depth was injury prone..0 -
not used to the intensity of the league and he has a rash edge to him. I do like him - he’s clearly got talent.AberystwythAddick said:

Absolutely gutted by the JRS news , just hope we still have irons in the fire out wide and the money isn't going to be redirected on 2 CBs.
This could have been a 10/10 window... It still could be an 8 but I was quite looking forward to a quite dull end to the window and no random panic loans.5 -

Please tell me you had a sip out of that. If not I hope you took it back and asked for a pint.7 -
Makes a mockery of carrying someone like Burke . We could have muddled through with Jones, Mesik, Bell and someone more reliable than Burke for the time being but Burke’a horrendous fitness record means that we are now screwed .MarcusH26 said:Absolutely gutted by the JRS news , just hope we still have irons in the fire out wide and the money isn't going to be redirected on 2 CBs.

I thought the interview Jones gave SSN on Tuesday lunchtime was odd, he proper had the hump! I guess it might've fallen through then.5

What was Rodwell doing on talksport yesterday if there was a chance the deal was going to collapse.4
-
I have heard differently and cant give too much away but my understanding is JRS is still going ahead but just a delay.20

It might be the reason why Jones was calling him……..AberystwythAddick said:What was Rodwell doing on talksport yesterday if there was a chance the deal was going to collapse.5 -

Fucks sake. What a difference a day makes, no wonder Jones was pissed off yesterday. Now we're all pissed off.1

Well it looks like everything was done including video shots etc etc ready to be announced this morning .. but looks like his agent playing silly buggers and wants more money to finalise the deal ….. but to say it’s dead is not correct I believe it’s a delay and could still happen but it could be JRS himself that has to sort it outUTA95 said:
As Cawley said the other day JRS/Right winger would be the final incoming.RonnieMoore said:I got a feeling that NJ is talking about another deal and not JRS .. and that one has to be scrapped to bring in a CB .. … there no way from the final whistle to the press interview has Rodwell and NJ had time to sit down to look at options ….Rodwell seemed in good spirits this morning on talksport ….NJ seemed pretty pissed if so maybe he can’t get his target after all Holsgrove deal is pulled
Just crap ain’t it how football changes so quickly
Don’t think JRS has signed and unfortunately I don’t think he will now10 -
Oh absolutely the Burke bit is just so predictable, carrying someone that can only do 15 games a season is such a bad decision that's bitten us nowwmcf123 said:

Apologies but is there anything substantive in the last 10 pages saying the JRS transfer is off/unlikely to happen or is it just based on Jobes interview?1
-
Does the agent work for the player or does the player work for the agent?8

StJohnsHill... "Mr Reliable" this transfer window has said that the deal is off a few pages backbolloxbolder said:Apologies but is there anything substantive in the last 10 pages saying the JRS transfer is off/unlikely to happen or is it just based on Jones interview?2 -
Frustrating if Rak-Saki won’t be joining but we have to try and adapt as best we can in the coming days.
if we had got him, I was confident we had a squad capable of not getting sucked into a relegation battle. The double blow is the injuries picked up last night and the short timeframe with which to find cover.
Just goes to show how vital the 6 points we’ve picked up already this season
I feel for Jones. He’s made some poor transfers that have cost us some money like Tanto and Apter, and in hindsight, Burke should never have been given a deal, but on paper there was no reason why Apter and Tanto couldn’t have worked out, and ultimately this window was looking bloody good up until y’day, the injuries and JRS potentially off. I’m confident they will be working around the clock for the next few days to try and get what we need, a lot of it is probably going to come down to a bit of luck however.
I don’t know the ins and the outs of the JRS deal, but looking at the recent transfers involving City and Spurs, and Chelsea and Villa. Football is becoming a proper shady business. I’m not suggesting anything dodgy JRS, but I think that so many things happen the average fan has no clue about, and for a club our size, with our budget, we just try to hang on for as good as we can get.Fingers crossed for the next few days3 -

IF...and bear with me here because I'm in full straw clutching mode...but IF we'd already had to put a stop on JRS because of some silly buggery on the other side (be that agents or Palace) because they thought they could squeeze more money out of us...
Then could Jones' histrionics last night have been designed to say "Look we really are in this shit and can't afford the extra you're asking." As in, it was not an outburst borne out of an inability to get the deal done, but one that could bring an already-agreed deal back closer to completion?
(Straws well and truly clutched)10 -
bugger...
