Lots of rumours that Burnley have offered his agent more money .. that might be true or not but at the end of the day JRS can still say no ??CafcSteve said:
So nobody knows what’s happening but you’ve just told us all what’s happening?RonnieMoore said:Think fans need to chill .. no one knows what’s happening or what might happen … there still positives
1- On Saturday apart from the keeper there will be only one change to the starting line up that played in two games
2- any deal can be rescued
3- NJ was told before the game so what happened during the game had nothing to do with the JRS deal
4- it’s happened before the window shuts so we can still do something if it had been next Wednesday ?5- Edwards , Ramsey and Kelman back in couple of weeks
6 - Billy injury is hamstring 4/6 weeks and most of that will be international break
Sure the club are just as pissed as the fans after a lot of work gone into the deal .. but let’s wait and see …. Personally think the deal will happen may turn into a loan ??
He will decide on which offer gives him the most financial security. We couldn't possibly match the personal terms a relegated side with parachute money can give him.0 -
Wondering if those that know what’s actually happened can say whether there is any chance of it being resuscitated or if the issues are insurmountable? @Airman Brown @stjohnshill7

Id seriously be looking to recoup some money we spent on Knibbs and get rid. He offers nothing.
Bar a couple of tap ins last season, I genuinely cannot remember one moment of play he has been involved in where I thought, yeah that was decent!
The stick Carey gets by our fans and then you watch this guy run around looking like a competition winner.14 -
Incredible. What an absolutely bonkers club to supportse9addick said:
To be fair this is pretty mad even by our standards. Get tonked in the cup, suffer two bad injuries and now the most exciting transfer we’ve had in years is off!CAFC_boi said:Rich using ‘wouldn’t’ rather than ‘won’t’ - again, perhaps reading too much into it but using past tense does make it sound like the JRS deal is off.I refused to get excited, as I didn’t believe it, until Tuesday, then I got excited and… Charlton did Charlton things. How have I not learnt after all these years …0 -
So disappointed in his performances.. You forget he is even on the pitch when he plays. Wearing the number 8 shirt number as well.. Should be 69.cafc4life said:Id seriously be looking to recoup some money we spent on Knibbs and get rid. He offers nothing.

It would be great if someone could just say why he isn't signing wouldn't it, but more chance of Burke being fit for more than 3 hours than that.Bedsaddick said:
As usual @Airman Brown seems to hint that he knows why but again is talking in riddles.Pelling1993 said:The whole cancelled deal thing is a load of bollocks made up by someone of the back of Jones' post match comments. No one knows anything that has commented thus far.

Gone from watching Alli last night thinking we had JRS on the way, to now knowing I am going to have to watch Alli play regularly. That is a sickener.4

If we don't sign JRS or an adequate right winger, we're in the shit, it's as simple as that. Defence injuries or notCroydon said:Gone from watching Alli last night thinking we had JRS on the way, to now knowing I am going to have to watch Alli play regularly. That is a sickener.4 -

Now would be a really good time for those supposedly ITK to give out more info rather than dropping vague information then disappearing again40

It’s getting to the stage where is it worth paying burke’s salary or agree a settlement deal with him. It costs money to do so but might save money on his salary long term. He’s never fit, and even when he is he breaks down mid game.DDOUBLEE said:

Yeah, I dont mean to be harsh as I'm grateful for the information, but it's very frustrating when posters say "it's off, I know the reason why but I'm not telling you". Just doesn't achieve anythingTheHerminator said:Now would be a really good time for those supposedly ITK to give out more info rather than dropping vague information then disappearing again1 -
Would cancel Burke's contract even if we bought a player in until January as cover. Another waste of squad space, NJ quotes about Burke's injury, makes him sound pissed off " He felt his quad - doing very little" so he isn't over doing it and he is still getting injured.
I honestly believe we look okay at left side but we do need cover Lloyd Jones so get a loan or free transfer but please just bin Burke. Literally no point in him being here.7 -
Don't go down this road. It ends up with you leaving the forum in disgrace.Danny Addick said:

I don't normally back the idea of the owners just getting the cheque book out but last night's two injuries are critical. We don't know lengths of the injury absence for either player but I would not be surprised if Collins was out for most of the season and Billy till Christmas. Seeing this I would hope that the owners release some extra budget, if only to bring in an experienced defender with at least Championship pedigree who has done a preseason, on loan till end of January.Sword65pf said:Truth of the matter is we don’t really know what’s going on, lots of speculation, think we need to hold tight and hope our powder is still dry. NJ comments have heightened the tension, but wonder if that was a bit of extra performance on top of the disappointment of the injuries, the club have been pretty calculated in what they’ve been doing with signings so I’d expect they have contingency plans in place as they know more than anyone how things can go tits up last minute. As the day goes on I’m sure things will become clearer. The team last night was a bit lambs to the slaughter, the injuries were just fucking bad luck, time for the owners to go that extra yard to protect the investment?1 -

If you’re going to have to pay him anyway you might as well try to get 15 minutes out of him if it lines up with a window where he’s fitking addick said:Would cancel Burke's contract even if we bought a player in until January as cover. We now need to bring in a centre back. So the ideal window probably looks like
In: Centre back, Rak-Sakyi
Outs: Asiimwe, Kanu, Docherty, Kaminski, Apter, and then probably one of Costello/Knibbs
I think the doubt with Rak-Sakyi is that we need to do all of those outgoings, one more than before now, which won’t be easy. And the centre back signing might take priority if the injuries last night are bad ones0 -
My guess is that the Burnley increased offer has resulted in the agent asking for more money.

I remember tweeting last season that Reece Burke was made of quavers and his sister replied to me asking me to delete it!!!
Turns out quavers was being very kind to the melt.33 -
These same posters have been doing it for years. They seem to take pleasure in it.TheHerminator said:

I'm all for a joke about him being injury prone, but calling him a melt isn't hugely fair I don't think. This is no way in his control and I'd imagine he's immensely frustrated that his career is coming to an end prematurely because his body has let him down repeatedly.cafc4life said:I remember tweeting last season that Reece Burke was made of quavers and his sister replied to me asking me to delete it!!!

Fact is he's a very talented guy who's body isn't built for football. That's not his fault.

More for JRS if it is agent his agent engineering the Burnley move. If he wants to allow his agent to dictate a move up to a shithole, where he will be nowhere near as appreciated as he would here, where they are in turmoil albeit being a parachute team, just so his agent can earn more money, good luck to him.We move on.2
