West Stand Parking Fine - None matchday

Hi
I popped down to the valley on Saturday to buy the new shirt (non match day) and today I have received a parking fine via Group Nexus for a £100

I didn't know they had restriction's on parking on non match days.

Is this a new thing or should I contact the club or appeal?

    I always park in Harvey Gardens to avoid the uncertainty of the parking restrictions in the club’s car park.

    Email the club especially if you bought a shirt and tell them it’s totally unacceptable, they probably have the power to cancel the parking ticket.

    Also is it a PCN or is it an invoice? Two totally different things.

    Its a PCN - I went to just pay it.

    But it comes up with a error - 'No record found. Please make sure you have entered your details correctly.'

    So thats why I thought I would ask on here.

    Check the 14-day rule: If the PCN was sent by post via Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera data, Group Nexus must ensure the Notice to Keeper arrives within 14 days of the parking date to enforce keeper liability.

    It arrived after 6 days

    This is diabolical,the West stand car park is empty on non match days,and is stewarded on match days,why has the club felt the need to pass over the car park to an outside source,surely they are not that desperate for money.How many cars  are going to use this car park on non match days,there is no other reason to park there other than on club business i.e. shop,ticket office.This sort of thing really gets on supporters nerves,so petty and unnecessary.

    There are large signs in the car park. Genuine visitors (as opposed to people looking for somewhere to park all day while they commute from Charlton station) can, I think, tap in their registration number in the main reception to avoid getting a speculative invoice from Nexus.

    It's a pita, I'd suggest talking to the club to see if they can get Nexus to waive their invoice.

    Amusingly for one evening match last season, the club forgot to tell Nexus there was a match on. So I, along with all the players, staff and other hospitality guests were all in receipt of a speculative invoice from Nexus.  And, no I didn't pay it!

    There are signs but £100 seems excessive especially if you were making a purchase.

    Ring the club ASAP and explain the situation.

    It's supposed to control the all-day use of the car park by commuters travelling from Charlton Station. 
    In which case perhaps have a 2 hour type limit you see on the road side near stations (CPZ) might be most appropriate. 

    I wasn’t aware a large number of commuters  were creating congestion. 

    A quick visit (I assume this was) need not carry the risk of a fine.  

    That said parking everywhere is a mine field these days.

    I think even Supermarkets are doing this now. It is something the Government needs to jump on. No problem with stopping illegal parking but this is all about money.

    Surely, if you produce your reciept for the top, the Club can speak to Nexus. Maybe the shop and CLub reception need to have one of those screens where you enter you reg and get a couple of hours

    I've thought for a long while that sorting our parking would be a massive vote winner for any party; clamping down of excessive charges, 'fines' and bullying behaviour from car park landlords. The trouble is, there are very few publicly owned car parks. Most are either owned or managed by a few big companies. If they all pulled out, even temporarily, we'd be absolutely fooked.

    There is a screen in the club shop to enter your reg no. If you are parked in the car park.

    It is private land. Don’t pay and see them in court.
    The systems are always open to challenge, so ask the people chasing you for the £100 to supply a full written record going back 12 months as to when the cameras were last checked and calibrated. That’s just a start.
    There are plenty of videos on you tube showing resistance to so called debt collection agencies, although this is not a debt.
    If such a person turns up at your door check identity and paperwork, better still only speak to them in Mandarin, and insist the paperwork is translated into Chinese.

    Just to be clear, there was a longstanding agreement that people using the mosque could use the car park. It was surely sensible given the club rarely used it on Fridays to any extent. No idea what the situation is now, but the mosque visitors were doing nothing wrong. Commuter parking is another matter.
