TeeC said:So if we play a back 4, Bindon is not a guaranteed starter if Billy is basically fine
Cant work out how this will play out, as IMO, Bindon is too good to sit on our bench. Either way he is a big upgrade on Collins and Burke so our depth is much improved. Also means we dont have to risk Koumetio and Jones every game in the depths of winter when we are going Sat, Tues/Weds, Sat14 -
I know we were linked with Cadamartri before he went to Wrexham but would be very meh as depth.4

No, but Billy has a history of injuries, we're clearly not confident about playing Mesik or Bell at CB in a 4, Collins is likely to be out for the season and Burke can't be relied on so I'd still expect him to be playing a lot of football. Lloyd also really could have done with being left out at points last season to recover so having a CB who is comfortable on the right or left and could realistically take the shirt off one of the others is a great spot to be in. Wouldn't be that surprised if he got in and kept Billy out based on how highly rated he isTeeC said:So if we play a back 4, Bindon is not a guaranteed starter if Billy is basically fine10 -
They aren't even that bad. 1 or both could be involved tomorrowgolfaddick said:
I didn't think they would be. Back after the International break in a month or so.fenaddick said:NJ's presser sounds like Koumetio and Burke's injuries aren't serious1 -
Billy will still be out for a few weeks, I think.TeeC said:So if we play a back 4, Bindon is not a guaranteed starter if Billy is basically fine
Personally, I'd like to see Mesik be given a go, before a Premier League loanee. I liked the cut of his jib on Wednesday. Looked like he had a bit of the sh-house about him.14 -
If Billy was just taken off as a ‘precaution’ as Jones said.
Does that mean he’s actually okay and will be available on Saturday?8 -
That's what I've taken it as. Expect him and Burke to be involved in the squad tomorrow, and that's why I assume there's been no rush to get Bindon doneFishCostaFortune said:If Billy was just taken off as a ‘precaution’ as Jones said.

Only guessing from NJ but i am not sure it is even that bad. Think we dodged a bullet on that one and being taken off on a precautionary basis suggests he should be back by West Brom.... but he doesnt have to be risked as we can play Bindon anyway.SteveACS said:

The Billy things is great because it’s so ambiguous there’s no way Preston will know who to prepare for

Billy won’t be playing tomorrow your looking at 3/4 weeks even for the leg to calm down cause he clearly jolted something on Wednesday and wound a big risk to play him in next 10 daysDDOUBLEE said:So it looks like both Burke and Billy could be involved tomorrow? I rate Billy very highly (and Lloyd of course) but having three players competing more or less equally for three spaces will hopefully bring the best out of the two that get the nod. With Bell and Mesik both able to cover as well, that's not bad given how bad it looked three days ago.Garrymanilow said:

Yeah if we're after a striker I don't really want another early 20s project striker which is exactly what BC would be.Redguy12 said:
Cadamartri would be okay but he's another project player. If he is available then get Emil Riis he would suit us lovely.MarcusH26 said:I know we were linked with Cadamartri before he went to Wrexham but would be very meh as depth.2 -
Well he's definitely playing if you of all people is saying thisRonnieMoore said:

If Lloyd Jones has both legs and a pulse, he plays. And he wouldn't want it any other way either.DamoNorthStand said:TeeC said:So if we play a back 4, Bindon is not a guaranteed starter if Billy is basically fine

Collins won’t be registered nowCrispywood said:Squad of 28 currently 3 more takes us to 31 means we need 6 out.Asiimwe
Doc
Apter
Kanu
Knibbs or JRC
then who else only one that makes sense to me is maybe Godden or Burke1 -
For what it’s worth, I saw Billy walk off on Wednesday without any limp or anyone having to accompany him so that matches the precautionary substitution that NJ is talking about.8

I’d agree with this, Mbick needs a years loan somewhere for more experience, cameos here and there in the Championship won’t help his development much and he isn’t ready to be considered as a starter. I’d caveat that by saying now he’s proved his fitness and recovery from injury I still wouldn’t rule out Brighton coming back in.DubaiCAFC said:With Jones wanting 3 I reckon we might bring another forward in, and send Mbick on loan to league one.4 -

That’s what we noticed and said, seeing he was the only starting player to start at West Ham. I only got worried when I heard the post match rant from JonesCB1 said:For what it’s worth, I saw Billy walk off on Wednesday without any limp or anyone having to accompany him so that matches the precautionary substitution that NJ is talking about.1 -
It’ll be an unpopular opinion but if we could rig a deal that involved Cozier-Duberry coming here permanently then I’d be tempted to do a deal. I really rate Micah but for what we need now ACD would be ideal.LargeAddick said:

With Karoy going I suppose we need to hit our Jamaican quota of 3 so in Cadamartri comes 😂3

I don’t think we can judge that from a sub appearance at West Ham and 1 start against spurs. I’d be surprised if Mbick isn’t kept around, especially as he doesn’t count to the squad restrictions. We wouldn’t have rejected Brighton’s offer in January just to loan him out again. Mbick would push much harder for the move if that was the case, because if he’s being loaned out anyway he might as well do it from Brighton and be paid moreLargeAddick said:

Jones did an interview the other day saying we weren’t signing a striker. So if we are looking to sign one that to me suggests Godden’s injury is worse than first thought10 -
Koumetio to start tomorrow then.RonnieMoore said:

Can anyone tell me why Billy’s leg is so irate in the first place?7

So NJ's hissy fit after the match on Wed was premature & unnecessary.DDOUBLEE said:

Great we have a cool & calm manager who doesn't throw his toys out of the pram at the first sign of trouble.....🙄13 -
3 positions I have been told are -fenaddick said:
I think it might actually be a striker given how injury prone Godden and Kelman have been (a guess, no info!)MarcusH26 said:
CB - Bindon ✅
RW - Obgene but looks like off to Stoke.
ST - Was more a maybe but name given Jebbison. Bournemouth have injuries and he did come on at City last weekend. Godden not back for least 6 weeks so let’s see on that one33 -
Not wishing to say I told ya so....but i told ya so on the match thread, Billy's looked precautionary...just saying,🙄1
