Absolutely gobsmacked by the lack of the defensive cover on the bench, it's not as if we had 3 defensive injuries on Wednesday that might affected it today? Absolutely scandalous!!!
Best form of defence is attack.

    Attack! Attack! Attack!

Asiimwe on the bench in the Championship? Blimey. I expected a League Two or NL move by now.
What’s he done to suggest he’s that bad ?
Where do you think he should be playing then?
League one, like last season, probably .

    Good team and squad today:

Writing any player off in the game again Spurs is crazy.

I will judge Knibbs when he plays alongside the 1st team and not a shadow squad against a Premier team.

Only possible starting XI. Not a single Championship level player on the bench though.
I guess Mwamba is a premier league level player then

I don’t understand the dislike some of our fans have for Asiimwe. Was decent last season in league one, yet you think he should be playing in league two or even non-league!
Don't dislike him. He's just not very good. Sorry if my opinion differs to yours. Let's see where his next move will be to. It won't be the Championship that's for sure.

That's being a bit generous. Pretty sure he was dropped for part of the season.

He's better than nothing, and did ok on Wednesday,  but I'd be surprised if he was still with us after the window closes

Good morning from Bend, Oregon. Here in a quick holiday.

Team as expected. As I mentioned in the pre-match thread, this feels like a big game. Preston have made eight signings this summer, and yet it also feels like they're there for the taking. Let's hope so.

    COYR.
So, if you come from Bend,Oregon, are you a Bender?

Thought he was close to being our MOM on Wednesday

I was reading the match thread and then the post-match comments and I couldn't believe some of the crap I saw about Apter (did well, tried hard, deserves a start against Preston) and Asiimwe (League One standard at best, get rid etc).

I must have had the wrong eyes in my head on Wednesday because I thought RApter was lightweight and ineffective and Nathan played well despite playing musical chairs along the back line half the evening. I don't think the five goals conceded were his fault.

Yeah I think he'll be out the door once we get Bindon finalised. JRC can always be Right Back 3 if we get to that level of emergency.

My only concern with Asiimwe on Wednesday was that strange little leap he did when tracking back... Its like he was half attempting to block a cross, but the Spurs man also had a clear box to cross into... So yeah not sure what that was.

People hyperventilating about our bench being weak...chill everybody, and wait till the full time whistle, then celebrate another 3 points on the table...👌

Agreed! Apter got f**king bullied every time he had the ball but apparently that counts as working hard, Asiimwe still got some challenges in playing against some very decent wingers.

I thought Apter when he had time and space put in a few wicked crosses which against the right opposition could have troubled them - But overall I thought he was lightweight

He probably should have had an assist for the header Asiimwe missed, but wouldn't have been enough overall tbh

They have four of "our" players in their squad: Offiah, Mills, Clarke, and Small. Thieving bastards!

Followed by Golfie moaning his arse off that none of our four goals were scored by a striker ...

Best player on Wed imo, especially as he played most of the game at LB, which is not his natural position.

He was, definitely. One swallow doth not a summer make.

And maybe he was MOTM because he did better than most of us thought he would but that doesn't make him a Championship quality player.

It was a mistake, he thought the attacker had pulled the trigger on a cross and was jumping to block it, but he was wrong, fella hadnt even shaped for it

lol! the Preston iFollow has just shown Harry Clarke pulling a face at Camera whilst chatting with someone in the Charlton dressing room - Seems a good character as one of the mascots approached him for an autograph and he looked delighted over it.
