I think we have signed a master of the dark arts.

Is it too soon to talk about a contract extension?
He’s giving Yann vibes, with his shithousery
and commitment. Not as handsome, tall or French but he’s got something going on.
I know your opinion holds more weight here but as someone comfortable enough with himself to comment, I'd have said Danny Mac is really quite handsome? We need a few more opinions here tbh

That's the kind of Championship experience/expertise that he brings which we needed - knowing how to do just enough to stop an attacker or break a move down but without giving away stupid freekicks or silly fouls.

Couple of mentions on the post match thread that as soon as Small appeared, McNamara got on his back and into his ear with genuine relish.

He really is a vexatious little shit and I love it.

I'd say he's quite a nice looking fella. Look at his guns in the West Ham post he made. What a man

He knows the game inside out! He's playing like a captain. Been very impressed with him.

I hope both him and Ramsay are fit at the same time as that will really keep standards high.

I feel absolutely filthy that my current favourite Charlton player is a Millwall legend. 3 league games in aswell, impossible not to love him.

Just remembered that McNamara has also played a fair number of games at LB. He said himself he enjoys it there.

That's quite good cover for us, but the loss of Collins means we only have 2 players who can play at RB in the squad. (Not counting Breakdown Burke).

To be fair we actually have 4, McNamara, Ramsey, Assiimwe and JRC spent a few years as a starter at RB for Blackburn at this level.

JRC played as a wingback for Blackburn. I don't think JRC as a fullback in a 4 would work at all. Certainly based on the odd time he filled in at wingback last season I'd be pretty worried.

I liked Clarke last season but McNamara for 3.5M cheaper is just outrageously good business

Attempted a spinning 20 yard pass with the outside of the boot to Alli. It was a fraction to high, I was behind Alli when it was played, I think he was surprised to receive the pass as it was outrageous.

Yes it was, came to Alli at chin height. I think he was so surprised he didn't head it on.

I love the sheer look of disgust in this picture. He is a proper twatty player, but he's now our twat, and I love having players that aren't soft touches.

I'll make a bit of a bold statement here, we have one of the best defences in the league/defensive options. We have 6-8 genuinely very good defenders. The last spell we had in the Championship in 2019, we had 1 or 2 at a stretch.

Jones sure knows how to recruit a defender.

Perfect summary. Whatever any of us thought/think of Clarke, getting McNamara in with that fee difference is fantastic transfer business.

It’s not too bold, last season only 9 sides conceded less Championship goals than us last season. I fancy us to concede less goals than last season, so we should then move up in the table for ‘best defence’.

Like most I love a player that is 100% and also has a bit about them and this bloke does. One question though, are Millwall that far ahead of us that they got rid of this bloke ? He looks very solid !

Kayne Ramsay has definitely opened the floodgates with fans' vocabulary in describing McNamara!

I think they were over subscribed in that area of the pitch and he does not suit the way they want to play.  Also, he HAS been injury prone the last 2-3 seasons and we are only 3 games in, so will hold judgement on the success of the transfer until Xmas and see if he lasts. My favourite player of the year so far though.
