    Imagine he's someone that might be better if we have more of the ball, which isn't going to happen much this season.

    I think he’s one of those players that might be too good at League 1 level but just isn’t quite good enough for the championship. The gap between the two leagues gets bigger and bigger every season there’s an insane amount of talent coming through. I like him a lot though he’s a model pro.

    Actually thought he looked sharp in pre season and could've got the nod over Carey. Can't really judge him too much against a premier league team, needs a run of league games.

    I'd say his a good squad player to have. Carey doesn't seem as effective as he was 9 months ago so having some competition is a good thing

    A shame it has not worked out for him so far given how keen we were to sign him last summer.

    I reckon he starts Wednesday - as good as Karlan was in the 10 role second half I dont think he quite offers everything Jones wants from a 10 from the start of the game. Jones requires a lot from the 10 role, on the ball like a traditional 10 but off the ball a lot more like an 8 but also often leading the press. They are expected to have exceptional workrate but also be positionally good and be able to drop into CM positions. Can see Grant doing it a lot in game and at home or against weaker sides, but away from home against a good side like West Brom I cant see it. So expect Harvey to be given the chance.

    Can't see Grant dropped against his old club though, so I assume Carey makes way and TC, ML and KG play

    I don’t know if I am being unfair but Knibbs simply doesn’t look very athletic to me, certainly not at Championship level.

    Those who saw him at Reading were so excited by this signing. So there must be a player there.

    I never saw him playing for Reading and based purely on Charlton form I literally have no idea what he’s meant to be good at. I don’t even know what type of player we’re supposed to have bought, because he doesn’t do anything. 

    I really hope he comes good.

    Could see him going if we’re bringing in 2 more we need 5 more senior players out. Kanu Asiimwe Apter Doc are probably given but still need 1 more and if he’s now behind Carey JRC and now potentially Grant where does he really fit in

    I’m torn on this. 2 sides to this coin….

    On one side , I don’t think he’s really had a sustained chance to prove himself.

    The other side of that coin is that when he has been in the team, he’s looked lightweight and ineffective.

    I put Harvey, Tanto and Rob Apter [and a few others ] in the same boat - not quite good enough.

    Don’t know how wise it is to risk these players in this league, unless we have no choice.

    Collins won't be registered for the first half of the season at least. Same as Edwards wasn't for the 2nd half of last season. 

    If the 4 you mention above go then Harvey can stay. I reckon he will.

    I think Knibbs is a finisher.  A bench player you bring on with 20 to go if you need a goal as he has a good knack of being right place, right time.  Not sure what else he brings.

    That’s already taking into account Sichenje being unregistered and Bindon signing. Apter Doc Asiimwe and Kanu are just certainties at this point but we still need one more out if we make a further 2 signings Jones is alluding to. 

    Besides Knibbs who makes sense? Maybe Burke but no one is going take him and we’re short defensively as well, potentially JRC but he looks a safer bet than Knibbs at present. If 1 of 2 signings m position is another striker potentially Godden as well but would be strange after handing him a new deal earlier this year

    Is Doc a certainty? I can see matches he’d be useful and a NJ type player. I’d be surprised if we let him go, particularly as Chalobah will struggle to play two games a week.

    Do you not think we’ve had distinctly different games already and he hasn’t even been on the bench ?

    Yes but it’s a long season. I’d be concerned if we went with an injury prone older player and an untried player at this level in that position. He may well go but I’d hope we bring someone in that position to bolster options if he departs. Maybe he’d be unhappy to stay without regular games so I suppose might be best if he departs but I think he’d be useful for us at domestic point this season.

    Outshone by Mwamba against Tottenham (games he usually thrives in) and not even on the bench in on paper the toughest league game (his type of game and we still won)

    doesn’t get in over Chalobah Coventry Mwamba and Ouma, JRC can fill in their as well. 

    Likewise with Carey and JRC ahead of Knibbs at present and those 2 getting no league minutes makes sense they’re likely to be going
