Sussex signing Kent players is becoming worse than NJ signing Luton players 🤣
It's appointing your ex head coach that's done it 🤣🤣🤣 got any fast bowlers that have Reece Burke level injury records???
Yep - Matt Quinn. Still has a year left on his contract but Sussex can have him for £1m.

No, Shoriful Islam was, but then he got a 7-fer in Australia and the Bangladesh board decided he was too massive for Kent (just tuning up the chat for tomorrow)

A five man seam attack (Dudgeon, Milnes, Stewart, Quinn and Mahmud). No spinners.

No Ekansh, so a shorter looking batting lineup

DOH!!! Amateur hour. Hadn't realised that it was a 10.30am start for obvious reasons.

Anyway, Crawley out - caught at slip at the second attempt for 6(8) followed by Compton, strangled down the legside to a brilliant catch for 8 (15)

    18-2 (4.4)
  • Why an early start ?

I'm not surprised Ekansh has been rested - he was looking tired in the last game and has played more games in the last three months of any of our players let alone someone who also bowls seam. The writing was on the wall so far as spin was concerned with Foreman the preferred 12th man, from a fielding perspective, to Parkinson. Quinn did well in his last game (29.4-7-96-6) so it makes sense to play him in home conditions and allow Khaled Ahmed a week or so to acclimatise by playing Dudgeon. That's the theory anyway!

Light at the back end of the day - if they have to go on for another hour or so because of previous bad weather then they would only end up going off for bad light in trying to take the game to say 7.30.

Bad toss to lose on a green deck with overhead conditions as they are.

Leo Selvey-Clinton was out for a duck playing for England U19s against Pakistan today. Shame the commentators on the Kent game are clueless regarding the connection to Graeme and Richard respectively.

Being at a game really helps you appreciate how utterly spawny batsmen are when they keep playing and missing

Things would be even worse for us if our opposition could catch the ball.

One of the hottest, driest summer's on record and the county championship has to make way for the poxy Hundred.
God I hate that competition and everything it represents
  • Yeah, Durham are 112/3 at Northamptonshire but hit a rain delay..

Have spent a lovely day slagging off Adam Hose. I even slagged him off to one of our unnamed bowlers, asking if we had anyone else who could field second slip. Said bowler agreed, then the next time he bowled, someone else was at second slip

Sadly, he's given it up with an awful cross batted slog and is caught behind for 40 (40)

I see Leaning is batting at 7 for Sussex and that Evison has been one of the three left out of the original squad of 14
