Impressive so far. 2 games in a week and has performed well in both. A bit of an edge when defending and good to see him surge forwards at times yesterday too.5

I seem to be in the minority but for the first 30 mins against Preston I didn’t think he was great. Seemed out of position a lot, but didn't get forward, seemed slow.After that he turned into a different player though! Interested to see if anyone thought the same?0

Can comfortably play anywhere across the back 4 as well which is very handy in a squad and can play in a back 3 too. An unbelievable bit of scouting imo.9 -
Absolutely outstanding last night.
I had him down as a big brute who is almost more a centre half (not saying he didn’t play that role ok at Spurs) but he’s a lightning wing back with a great cross on him as well!

He's big, strong and extremely fast. We've done unbelievably well to find a fairly like-for-like replacement for Bell already, that was a role I was a bit worried about as a left footed player with that profile is extremely hard to come by and Bell is 32 and fairly injured. If we can keep Mesik fit I hope he'll be a real gem for us1

Bell (when fit) is probably the better "technical" player in terms of skill with the ball, picking a raking pass etc, but Mesik has the edge on physicality and energy so overall they are both great options to have even before Edwards finally returns, not to mention Billy K is hopefully coming back in the foreseeable. Given how weak the left side was last season it's very promising honestly, albeit fitness issues could be our main problem.Garrymanilow said:He's big, strong and extremely fast. Ivan has had to play at least 3 positions this season already. To be fair he's done pretty to very well and will likely have a good chance of rb cover against Qpr. I've been impressed with him and can see him being a fan favourite in the future.4

He looks a good player. It's a shame we have to move him around between left back, center back, and right back. It's not the easiest way to get him consistent, but needs must.1

We saw him in his best position v West Brom and he set up a goal and looked brilliant.
Not for one second saying he is as good as him yet (and may never be) but the way he powered down the flank vs WBA reminded me of Crama.2 -
Early signs are we have unearthed an absolute gem here, £500k you are laughing.Way way quicker than I thought, good with both feet and fairly physical, can really carry the ball too.Passing lets him down a bit but I think he’s trying to do the right things.Should be our starting left back going forward, even when Josh returns.13
