Shouldn't have started in an away game alongside a bunch of strangers. I don't know what Jones expected but exactly what we all thought would happen happened; he looked good in flashes, won some battles and also gave the ball away continually and then his confidence evaporated after he caused the situation for the corner and then gave away the penalty. There's definitely a player there but Jones has not helped him at all7

He needs time. He got mugged off for the pen, you will see 50 examples of that situation with nothing done from 3pm onwards.hopefully the coaches and players don’t pile on like some on here.3

He looks like he would struggle in league one tbh.
Every now and then you take a punt on an overseas player and it doesn't work out.
Plenty of examples of this down the years

Too early to judge Ouma as he's just settling in and I hope he goes on to be a very good signing.

I just feel he looks really frenetic at the moment. Maybe nerves, maybe trying to hard, or maybe that’s his style.1

Thought he looked poor from the start. Miss placed 3-4 simple passes in dangerous positions within 20 mins with at least 2 before the penalty. Not writing him off but that was a dreadful start.4

Championship football is hard, fast, and very physical. Ouma looks like he can take care of himself, but he did seem to panic a little. It was a mixed performance, some good stuff in there, but he seemed to panic on the ball and rushed countless passes. I'm sure he's better than he showed, but this league is a sharp learning curve - too soon for a start in a tricky away game imho.
I'm pointing the finger at the manager today rather than Ouma, calamitous selection that did the player few favours.

Funny isn't it, he came on Vs West Brom and played well and changed the game for the better alongside Rankin-Costello.
Today it was a bit of a horror show, but there was a fair amount of bad luck in there too, with the penalty (soft as hell) and the clearance hitting Grant and falling straight to their player for the second.
We shouldn't write him off so quick, but I suspect a few have2 -
Even before the pen, where I thought he was naive, he had a few misplaced passes. Then the pass to Grant for the second, even if it wasn’t a pass it was a poor clearance, just put your foot through it. He was ok at West Brom but gave the ball away a couple of times then too. It’s early days but I have serious doubts about him.1

Never a penalty but if we count it then he was at fault for first 2 goals. He looked poor, no composure and his passing was awful. Its not about scapegoating anyone its about calling it as it is.
Lets hope he improves but he needs a massive improvement.0 -
He was very poor today but on reflection i think Jones was asking a lot of him today.
Away game, a place we never seem to do well at, playing alongside a guy we only signed 3 days ago and he probably only had 1 training session with. Not the smartest move from Jones.
I wouldn't write Ouma off just yet, but today really wasn't the game to be playing him in.2 -

Composure and keeping a cool head is what he needs. I don't think it's a probably of quality. Needs to stay calm and make the right decision.
Was hoping Skippy would show a bit more leadership alongside him today but perhaps that's harsh as he was on debut. I think Chalobah will make the best partner for Ouma.1 -
He’ll have to improve if we released the club captain to accommodate him.

I still think he's got it in him to come good, he's had good and bad performances but today was firmly the latter. I think the issue is putting him into a role that is about composure and coolness when even on his better days that is not what his game is about. He's a blood and thunder type player, that back fired on him today and it clearly shook his confidence but starting him in that formation was a bad call by NJ in the first place for me, and set him up to fail.cantersaddick said:Composure and keeping a cool head is what he needs. Also it’s worth noting, Ouma didn’t personally provide the opposition with 4 goals, the TEAM let themselves down in a really bad 30mins of the game.3
