I think you can judge Charlie by his record which he is busily trying to rewrite.
it wasn’t just some unfavourable editing on the documentary that did for Charlie. He and his co owner borrowed the money from the club to buy Sunderland and then wrote the loan off. Perfectly legal but if I was a fan I’d be furious, especially when the fans were mocked in his statements.
He never achieved promotion for them despite having PL parachute money. When they were promoted under a new owner he tried to take credit, sound familiar?
He might have had some small part in bringing the new owners in but his initial leadership was a disaster, with the club going from one terrible appointment to another. The Appleton meme came true.
The more he was pushed out of the club the better the club did. If he was so good why hasn’t he been snapped up, he’s having to wait for another distressed club to try and work his way into.
I’m sure if anyone knows the guy, they’d say he’s a charming, top bloke and I’m sure he will spin a good yarn on how good he is but the facts don’t lie.1 -

I can't say I know a lot about CM, but I noticed the start of the Fan Zone which I think he initiated? I also heard him speak at Bromley Fans meeting and thought he came across well except for 1 exchange with a very popular (with me at least) blogger. He ended the exchange with a sort of "I know better than you" which was a put down which was unnecessary and came across as very arrogant. It detracted from the rest of the evening and which his comments were very interesting (although I agreed with some not others). I also seem to have connected his departure in my mind just before a set of financial results that showed a massive increase in admin salary charges. Like £200k increase, someone more expert will be able to tell I'm wrong. My conclusions are no doubt he has talent and also ego to go with it.Thats my pennyworth. (PS I also saw get on a train at Chislehurst- maybe he has 2 houses!)2

Hammering the company card/bar bill is the behaviour of a piss taking ponce, especially at a club that is chasing losses all the time .

Charlie seems to be a good talker and only ever lasts long enough at a place before the money people realise the emperor has no clothes.I'm sure he's very good at taking credit for other people's expertise and hard work though.6

I was at that Bromley Addicks evening. Didn't believe much of what he said tbh. There was one particular subject he spoke about which I know a little about and it was very obvious by the words he used that he was saying something people would miss-construe as a much greater positive than was the case and that was proven true a few months later. I agree exactly with @oohaahmortimer take on him3 -
