    Good news as confirmed by Richard Cawley on the meet the experts webinar this evening that Mbick played 45 minutes against Fulham this week and scored as well

    This is what's the constant worry is even getting the players to stay with us until they're 16 because the vultures are constantly circling with the reputation our academy has.

    Yes, I make you right. We need the late developers who don#t get sniffed out. The system stinks though. It is like making a law that rich people can rob your house!

    It wasn't just a lack of pace. It was a lack of effort and a lack of knowing what to do. It was absolutely horrendous, at a time when the rest of the team had clicked into our usual ending-stronger mode, it ruined it

    Missed the ending stronger .  We played no football whatsoever for most of the game .  Would hate to play up front for us .

    I don't think he fully trusts his knee and he's being given pressing instructions from NJ from the touchline. All while playing minimal minutes in a team that looks poor in attack, is shattered and didn't get to play with him in pre season.

    Miles and TC look like totally different players to last season. That was their first Championship season and their third or fourth full senior season. Mbick hasn't even completed one senior season yet. Where's the patience?

    Thought he did okay tonight, has great close control and a lovely through ball to send Grant in (should have been a red card).

    let’s not forget he’s coming back from an awful injury and he’s being thrown on for 10-15 mins usually when we are right up against it with almost no possession.

    clearly he has something about him as both Brighton and Southampton think he’s worth 5-7m

    He ran fine, working from the instructions given from the bench. I'm sure you know better than them though

    Personally thought he showed real flashes of class tonight. Needs to have more urgency in front of goal but the way he uses his body to win the ball in the middle of the park and get a pass away is fantastic. Also needs to get better in the air for such a big lad. 

    We really miss a fox in the box like Kelman though.

    He's 19... If he was tearing up the Champ at this age, he'd be a £30 million player. 

    I'm pretty sure he'd have gone on loan to League One if Godden and Kelman weren't injured. Micah was our only fit striker by the end of the match. 

    I really don't get the need to jump in and criticism him. He's got plenty of time.

    Leaburn has also had a lot of bad injuries. But when he's on the pitch, he presses, snaps into the challenge, shows for it, fights. Mbick spent almost every minute he was on the pitch shuffling about watching QPR stroll past him

    I mean Campbell and Leaburn alone this season have proven what a year of learning at this level can do to help
    Less than a couple of months ago, neither were classed as decent at this level - Whilst they've probably been our best two forward players this campaign - Whatever happened to just waiting and seeing what happens with him? - Why the desperate need to make a rushed judgement... What does "I told you so" genuinely achieve, even if he doesn’t work out?
    Its the same with Ouma and Skipp... I eagerly await the same judgement with Nkeng when he doesnt immediately grab an assist or score on his debut.

    When Leaburn came back from those injuries most of the comments on here were about how he wasn't running hard enough

    I guess the question is why are we in a position where we have to chuck on a 19 year old with very little experience an hour in with the expectation that he needs to work some magic? 
    Looking at our striker options, we've got Leaburn and Kelman with some Godden cameos through the season. It's very bare-bones.

    The same can be said for literally any other player. 

    Personally think we’re hoping he bags some goals and then try for 10 mill in Jan

    Leaburn has finally had a full Pre-Season... and has had a summer to go away and work on his strength without needing to think about recovery

    People genuinely need to have their head checked saying we should’ve taken the money. The same people will be scratching their head in 3-4 years at why we let him go for peanuts when he’s 23 years old and smashing goals for a top championship side.

    Leaburn has done that this season but not a lot before that .

    Agreed. Id start mbick on saturday, give him the first 70 mins with the first 11. 

    Not gonna see the best of him chucking him on in a agme like tonight, feeding on scraps, after other changes.

    Chucking him on against tired defenders?

    Look, maybe he was just trying to keep shape or something. I'll give him some sort of benefit of the doubt. But what I saw, and those around me agreed, looked like someone who was unwilling to run. It was really weird

    That was a thankless task for Mbick tonight. Fair to say he doesn’t look great in the air compared to the 7ft 8 Leaburn but he did ok on the ball, seems to have good feet. In a more attacking side he’d show what he has. 

    Leaburn tailor made for an NJ team. Hold up play improving, not judged on goals, adds to the team simply by being a very good target man. Not Mbick’s game I think it’s safe to say based on what I’ve seen of him.
