  • In Cardiff now. Anyone staying here or arriving early tomorrow. There are 2 spoons outside the station to the right. Opposite the second is a brewery quarter with several bars.

Highly recommend chippy lane later with a username like that ha. The Gatekeeper is a decent pub up the road too which I’ll be popping to later

Can't see that it's been mentioned, but the M4 is having a weekend closure in both directions between junctions 10 and 11 at Reading. Better leave extra time to get to Cardiff on time if driving!
What the advice on this on how to navigate if coming from Dartford way. Just follow the temp re-route or turn off earlier and try to avoid? Suspect will be round there about 7.30 / 8am

Won’t your SatNav recommend a better route if the diversion has a delay ?

His Hillman Imp does not have all mod cons :)
  • It’s been quite a few years since I’ve been back home in Cardiff and it’s nice to see the weather is still absolutely rubbish

Slightly biased as living in Basingstoke and know the whole B3272 A329M malarkey, but… depending on what waze/googlemaps says, I’d be tempted to do M25-M3 then A339 to Chievley (or possibly A34).  Not that I care too much as I’m proper Charlton and on the train 😀

  • Anyone else out in Cardiff at the moment?

Ah well. I pulled within 2 minutes of walking into the first bar. Unfortunately he wasn't my type. On the plus side, he was convinced Cardiff wouldn't be able to score, so, bearing in mind our recent results, we should lump on a 0-0 draw.
Spent the rest of the evening practising my darts, which was considerably preferable to a night in the Live Lounge!

Currently no jubilee line past Waterloo due to track failure and no DLR’s from Lewisham towards Bank or Stratford.

    Safely detoured via M3, A327, A30. Back on M3

Am staying at De Vere Hotel for a weekend in the Cotswold, will toddle along to Cardiff in about an hour.

The train operators need a good horse whipping for the way they jerk people around. And then just shrug their shoulders.
  • Seems to be sit anywhere, as the block I'm meant to be isn't open

I went down there yesterday morning for something to eat, The gatekeeper was rammed Friday evening as their was a womans rugby match on across the road. But Cardiff is a great city. Worth a weekend visit, Forget about the football.

Had a great night in Cardiff on Friday, only spoiled slightly by the football the following day!

Typical..... we're just about to leave now as well 🤬
  • My first coach this morning was cancelled, the 2nd coach then broke down in Newport, and then the traffic on the bridge, M4, and Reading roadworks meant it took me 6 hours to get from Cardiff to Heathrow! Safe to say it was a bit of a ballache and I wished I stayed in Cardiff instead

Similar issues encountered as those posters above. 6h30 car journey home for us today from Cardiff back to Swanley. After that absolute spineless shit show that Jones laid on for us yesterday it really makes me wonder why so many Addicks put in the time and effort to travel in such numbers.

I hope everyone got home OK. Glad I left at 3. 30 yesterday to Basingstoke. However similar problems. The 11.13 to ninian Park was delayed so everyone left the station and walked. On the 3.30 back to Salisbury, it was only 2 carriages instead of 4. Both Paddington trains around that time were cancelled so fans squeezed on it and went to Bristol and changed.

But as AFKA says,  great place for a weekend visit either with pals or the wife. Everything on hand with great bars and restaurants and shops for her indoors. Mine could have come but declined... Now wishes she went.
