Got a really, really bad feeling about this one. We're running on fumes a bit, there's nothing off the bench and all it'll take is an injury, a red card or an early goal and it could be Stoke all over again. If our starting side plays well and gets a goal then we could be in business, but I'd say that's less likely (the getting a goal bit). Would be happy with a draw. It's fair to say the JRS saga has screwed us more comprehensively than anyone was willing to admit at the time. Either Nkeng starts like a train or Kelman turns out to be a gun RWF or we're deep in the relegation mix, and I say this as an admirer of our goalkeeper, defence and midfield. You just can't have weaknesses in this league3

I mean I'm also an admirer of our LW and our CF (as a target man rather than a finisher) but that RW slot is a serious problem and it means half our attacks fizzle before they can even start to develop1

Oh ok, agree in that case, I’m still not convinced by Mbick at this level yet, hopefully Kelman can get going and would like to see more from Grant, something isn’t clicking with him in the formation. 🦋Leuth said:

I think goals will come for the lad. I really am a big fan of his game. It will help him if we get a ref that understands he is fouled more than any other player but we can't hold our breath on that with the wankers we have to put up with.pettgra said:

We're 23rd in the xG table and Cardiff are 11th. Let's see if the underlying numbers tell the story here or we manage to get another smash and grab win.0

Underlying numbers go both ways of course, we've conceded less xG than them despite facing two penalties. Our non penalty xG faced is actually the 5th best in the division and they're down in 12th. I think you are only half right about our attacking weakness. We have tried, I think, 6 players in the 10 role without any of them being convincing, Grant the best of them. Without a proper 10 or a 7 we have only half an attacking force. Even were Godden and Kelman fit, they don't fit either of those roles.Leuth said:Got a really, really bad feeling about this one. What they struggle to do is convert chances. We are good against possession teams usually, I think we can sit in and nick this 0-1

Oh shit yeah, I forgot. I mean, Grant hasn't done a terrible job there and JRC has had his moments, but it's certainly not a position we can have much confidence in. When people moan that our midfield can't control a game, what they really mean is that our midfield can win the ball but then can't pass to anyone except TC or if they're lucky all the way to Leaburn who can reliably get us on the front foot. His time with Cardiff last season showed what he can do at that level with the right team... But again wonder now this season, if he's going to repeat his Rochdale exploits, and that we'll see him trying to play the right way, but it'll ultimately cost him, and Cardiff2

We have been stitched up by the fixtures but have had a week's rest for this one. As long as the ref is fair, which is a big ask, I think we will get something from the game. I think this ref is a young up and coming one. If I am right, they are the best.0
