The BBC have him playing further forward in the 10 role. Maybe that's where we're going wrong.0
-
Definitely played an advanced role

Subbed off after 65 mins2

Didnt do much, likes to drop the shoulder and pass forward.0

Well he’s awful as a defensive midfielder so maybe a forward role would suit where he can do least damage but not ahead of the likes of Carey. Grant or Knibbs .SantaClaus said:The BBC have him playing further forward in the 10 role. Maybe that's where we're going wrong.1 -

Jones will coach that out of him.1 -
Our fanbase loves to write off a player at the drop of a hat. Give the lad time to settle ffs 🙄27

I understand the giving players time to settle but it can’t always used in every instance. It’s not impossible for players to get up to speed without much time, look at Mesik who hadnt touched competitive English league football before and Koumetio with 1 prev appearance.Taxi_Lad said:Our fanbase loves to write off a player at the drop of a hat. I don’t care if ur from the Czech league polish league danish league etc if ur a professional footballer you should be able to pass the ball 5 yards4 -
I agree with you on the majority of cases but not with Ouma.Taxi_Lad said:Our fanbase loves to write off a player at the drop of a hat. Give the lad time to settle ffs 🙄

He’s looked crap, but unlike Mesik and Koumetio, he hasn’t had a full pre season with us.Crispywood said:

A pre season won’t mean he can magically perform a simple pass. Maybe it’s nerves and management need to build his confidence, but looks completely off it at present.2

No one said it would but people saying he hasn’t had a pre season or time to adapt shouldn’t impact your ability to pass the ball, that’s more for learning the positioning, role, fitness and sharpness.arny23394 said:

Adapting can impact a players ability to pass, Louis Mendez mentioned a good example on his recent pod with Rich Cawley. Ouma played a through ball for McNamara but it came to nothing as McNamara didn't make the run.
It's a positive that he tried a more difficult pass and it shows he may need time to settle into the way we play as a team and how his teammates play, and for them to learn more about him.
I'm hoping Ouma and/or Mwamba can step up, as we can't rely on Chalobah's fitness, and Coventry and Skipp look similar players so might not be our best partnership.8 -
Tbf when he made a wayward pass in the game yeaterday the commentator said ‘who was that even to?!’
😂
i like the fact he only looks forward, likes to
drop the shoulder, intelligent play to get a yard on players and make things happen. However, like knibbs, i would fear he might just not be at this level to allow him to compete. Lets hope he is!0 -

lets hope this is a true reflection of his ability and once settled in starts to show this for us.....EugenesAxe said:

There's certainly a player in there. He may or may not ever settle in English football but way too early to make that judgment.13

At Cardiff i think he actually played a really good through ball to Leaburn, who threw his arms up in frustration and gave up running for it! Everything else he did was a total disaster though. Surely he can only get better, right?Scoham said:Adapting can impact a players ability to pass, Louis Mendez mentioned a good example on his recent pod with Rich Cawley.
