Cristiano Ronaldo Impossible to Ignore

  • It can't be coincidence that this week in the two games that Ronaldo hasn't played, Portugal have got two pretty good results, winning away to both Norway and Denmark. They're definitely a better side without him.

I don't think Kathryn Mayorga would agree about him being a nice person
    $375k says otherwise.
Somehow I don't think that will have changed her thoughts on him

To me he has always come across as a narcissistic arsehole.
I suspect it's because he is.

    Generous with money though!
Easy to be generous when you have so much. Can be narcissistic and generous?

It does look like he is not Mr Popular on the playing field, that was very clear when Portugal got turfed out of the World Cup and he looked a man alone.
Agreed that with his wealth he can be generous but it does not always mean that people will part with it, so a bit harsh.

He should have retired gracefully after Euro2024. Leave international football when people still think you can do a job.

If he had done that, his legacy would have been completely intact.

I think he might actually have done that if Argentina (and Messi specifically) hadn't won the World Cup in 2022, and thereby trumping Ronaldo's Euro win.
For what it's worth I doubt Messi gives a second thought about Ronaldo or trying to "beat" him. He's certainly not a pure little cherub but nor does he seem as perenially stuck up his own arse as Ronaldo.

  • 3 wins out of 3 without Ronaldo and his replacement Ramos has scored in every game.

Their manager has said the door is open for him to return for the November games if he wants to. My guess is he's just saying that and is secretly hoping he chooses not to.

Ultimately the manager just doesn't pick him.
