Bullshit Ronnie!!RonnieMoore said:They gave NJ bigger budget then last year .. let’s not forget we were long way down the line in agreeing a deal of up-to 6 mill for our former winger .. wages have increased massively with us close to having a 30k a week player on our books .. so money been spent and there still some left if needed in January perhaps a cheaper deal for JRS2 -
Think we'll only know anything when a piece about a prospective buyer appears on The Athletic. Don't think we're at the " who's in the directors box" stage of things yetfenaddick said:

Complete guess but I think they probably want too much money to recoup what they've put in. So this will drag on until they get more realistic about what people are willing to pay for us0

Is no one reading Rodwells take on our signings? We have spent well apparently 😉😀2

I'll bite. Who is this close to 30k PW player? I'm assuming it's Grant or Skipp and if so that's about 27k pw more than either are worth.RonnieMoore said:They gave NJ bigger budget then last year .. let’s not forget we were long way down the line in agreeing a deal of up-to 6 mill for our former winger .. wages have increased massively with us close to having a 30k a week player on our books .. so money been spent and there still some left if needed in January perhaps a cheaper deal for JRS0 -

Grant was on 30k at West Brom probably. No chance he is on that nowLargeAddick said:

I would guess our top earners are probably on around £15k a week, definitely no one on more than 20k. That will be Grant, Jones, TC and Ramsay all around that ballpark0 -
MarcusH26 said:Just think they've got spooked by what's required to be truly competitive at this level. We're well within what can be invested but I don't think the appetite to do it is there.
Would not be surprised if we're in new hands by the end of the season.
Any new owner would likely want in by end of Jan I would imagine. That way they can spend and turn our season around. Buying after then if our form stays poor could be a spectacularly bad investment.1 -
Should the owners be getting a bit more heat than they are at the moment? all seems to be directed at NJ and less so the players. Just wondered what people thought. Just feel like a bit of clarity is required about the ambition( if any) they have. It’s the way of football that ultimately the manager will be responsible for things on the pitch, but I really do feel like NJ. Has been thrown under the bus.16

Wouldn't really be selling the club though would they?
Such is this ownership scenario, we've basically got another pub landlord who's had enough/ potless/never really had much interest in the first place.2 -
Nonsense. They love the project and are here for the long term…😀13

I guess I wonder how attractive we are to potential buyers too beyond being in London. I know every time we come up for sale people within the game talk about what a great opportunity we are for the right owner etc but we always seem to end up back in the same position within a few years with an owner that's wanting rid of the club and back on the merry-go-round of if the next incumbent will be the one that finally pushes us forward into that next tier of Championship clubs.
I'd guess bar a select few for various different reasons most of the league is either up for sale or looking for new investment.5 -
Surely the £4M earmarked for JRS will be available in January?golfaddick said:I'm sure if they wanted to they could put in more money and not be in breach of any financial rules.
They just don't want to. The "sale" document at least showed that they are looking for additional funding, and that they had hit their own individual limits.
But I will say that I don't believe anything Rodwell, Carter or NJ says about what was spent in the summer & how our budget is "bottom 3". Grant's wages can't be cheap & I expect we are paying a pretty penny towards Skipp's wages too.
Long & short - we got away with it last season mainly due to teams having points deducted. Not sure we are going to be so lucky this season.5 -
The way our transfer deals go we will probably spent on resigning DochertyFerryman said:

I think we’ve had such bad luck with ownership. Ever since the Zabeel deal we’ve had bad owner after bad owner. We are a prime club for investment, location, academy etc but we are in such a mess with Roland still holding the cards and having a number of owners of the club right now.MarcusH26 said:I guess I wonder how attractive we are to potential buyers too beyond being in London. Can’t wait for the next circus of clowns to turn up (ffs what did these fruits expect , except bigger and bigger losses or someone to come in and offer em £150m for the club who rent a ground and training ground)
we can then all fawn over the next fruit loops who come in .
no sane person would touch us with a barge pole .14 -

It’s the same old Charlton. Finally look like we’re progressing and have a chance of stabilising in The Championship and the owners lose interest/run out of cash and we inevitably get relegated. SCP and the crooks all over again.10

Nope won't be close to being the main money man but does seem to be the main one that's actually at games.fenaddick said:

I think it was mentioned that he was actually pushing for Friedman to sell his stake as opposed to a full sale.7
