    Probably a bit of both. If he is still missing from training then at some point there has to be concern for his welfare. It might be a dick move but there might also be an underlying issue. Whether we like it or not CAFC are still his employers and have a duty of care to him. It also has to be remembered that as soon as a statement comes out there will be a load of idiots who hurl personal abuse at him on social media. He certainly hasn't helped himself but he is a human being after all
    Probably NJ told him not to bother returning.

    The complexity might be as simple as we don’t have a suitable HR  Legal bod to hand to immediately deal with such a scenario.
